Description

We start with the visit to the exterior area of Sultan Qaboos Mosque. You will then proceed to Palace al Husn for a photo stop at the grand gate and unique clock tower. Then you will visit the traditional al-Haffa market where you can buy the best quality frankincense, perfumes and shawls. The tour will then take you to the vast Salalah´s plantations of coconut and bananas where you can also explore the irrigation system. Then you will leave the city to discover the Ayn Razat spring surrounded by gardens and rock formations. In Darbat valley you can admire the seasonal waterfall and cascades, limestone rock formations as well as camel herds grazing in the lush vegetation.

Itinerary
Visit of the interior of the largest mosque in Salalah. You cand admire luxurious chandeliers, carpet and calligraphic decorations. Modest clothing is required.
Taking photos of the main gate of the Palace, the clocktower and neighbouring gardens.
Inhale the scent of the best frankincense and other fragrances and perfumes. Shopping for the traditional items like incense burners, basketry, Omani national dress and other souvenirs.
A short walk in the vast plantations where you can explore the irrigation system watering coconut palms, bananas, papayas and many other fruits and vegetables. You can also enjoy drinking the coconut water and tasting various fruits in the local stalls.
Discover the fascinating gardens around the springwaters. You can see how the water of the spring gushes from the rocks.
Enjoy a short walk in Darbat valley which boasts greenery all year round. Dip your feet in azure waters of Darbat river and take a snapshot with camels or make a panoramic photo of Darbat´s huge escarpment with seasonal waterfalls.
Enjoy the refreshing coconut drink or taste one of the delicious banana species or other tropical fruit in the plantations area. You will also explore the nearby plantations with animal farms, irrigation systems, and friendly people.

The water stream area within Ayn Razat is quite nice and certainly a gathering place for many looking for cooler places. It almost looks fairy-like in a desert surrounded atmosphere. We walked up to a cave from which we had a better perspective of the whole area. We came across several people having lunch out in the open.
