Sake "Omakase" in Osaka : Guided Tasting by a Active Sake brewer

Description
This Session is personally hosted by the owner — a former sake brewer who trained for a year at a sake brewery in Osaka. It is a masterclass-style experience where you can learn about the history, brewing process, and cultural depth of Japanese sake while savoring its diverse flavors. The session takes place at "Sake Pairing Bar Potan", a refined space designed with traditional Japanese architecture where sake truly takes center stage. Located in the Fukushima area, just minutes from central Osaka, it offers a serene yet accessible setting to learn directly from a sake professional. As for me, the owner — I Traveled around 35 countries at the age of 20, immersing myself in different cultures. That journey made me rediscover the beauty and richness of Japan, inspiring me to share its culture with people around the world through sake. Beyond sake itself, I also love cross-cultural exchange, and I look forward to enjoying meaningful conversations with all of you during the experience.

Amazing experience, such a cool space, knowledgable guide and lovely sake.
It was a 10/10 experience that was incredibly thought throught. It was really interesting hearing a breakdown of the making process for sake. All the different sake we tasted were also very delicious. Our guide was made the experience even better by being very kind and easy to talk to. Highly recommend this experience
Yuki was an incredible guide to the world of Sake. The sake was amazing, we definitely don’t get sake like this back in the states!
Whether you know little or nothing about Japanese sake, it's an experience worth having. The setting is friendly and discovering good products is done in a relaxed atmosphere.
Thank you so much for your kind review — this is Yuki! I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the experience of discovering sake. One of my goals is to create a space where anyone — whether completely new to sake or already a fan — can feel comfortable exploring it at their own pace. Sake can seem complex at first, but I believe it becomes much more enjoyable when experienced in a friendly and welcoming environment. Thank you again for spending time with us in Osaka. I hope your sake journey continues long after your trip. Kanpai! 🍶Yuki
What a wonderful experience! Yuki was a fantastic host, speaks great English, and demonstrates his knowledge of the sake craft with grace and laughter. We drank delicious sake, had a few tasty bites, and left with a much better working knowledge of sake. Price was quite reasonable for a HEALTHY amount of sake, matching snacks, and Yuki’s knowledge. The bar space is gorgeous, designed and purpose-built by Yuki and his father.
Thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful review — this is Yuki! I’m truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the sake, the food, and the overall experience. Sharing the world of sake through conversation, laughter, and discovery is exactly what I hope guests can take away from their time here. I especially appreciate your kind words about the space itself. Designing and building this bar together with my father was a very personal journey for us, so hearing that the atmosphere left such an impression means a great deal to me. And yes… perhaps the amount of sake was a little “generous” 😄 But I’m glad you left with both happy memories and a deeper understanding of sake. Thank you again for spending your time with us in Osaka. I hope we can share another glass together someday. Kanpai! 🍶 Yuki
Yuki was a genuinely brilliant host, taking us through a number of different varieties of sake, and walking us through the process of production. I could not recommend this more.

Yuki is excellent - we got lost on the subway getting there, and he was gracious and helpful helping us find his location. Very good communication- his English is great. Upscale clean lovely environment for the tasting. We learned so much about the history and different styles sake. And the brewing methods. He even shared a vintage sake which was incredibly different than the fresh. This is a fun & educational experience. Highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and kind review — this is Yuki! First of all, I’m very glad you made it safely to the bar, even after the subway adventure 😄 Sometimes finding us can feel like part of the Osaka experience itself! It truly means a lot to hear that you enjoyed both the educational and fun sides of the tasting. Sake has such a wide range of styles and brewing philosophies, so I’m always happy when guests get to experience that depth firsthand. I’m especially glad you enjoyed the vintage sake comparison. Discovering how dramatically sake can change over time is often one of the biggest surprises for guests. Thank you as well for your kind words about the space and communication. I wanted to create an atmosphere where guests could relax, ask questions freely, and enjoy sake without pressure. I hope the experience stays with you long after your trip to Japan — and I’d love to share another glass with you someday. Kanpai! 🍶 Yuki
The sake tasting and workshop took us on a really fun and eye-opening 2-hour journey. Our instructor, Yuki, was calm, super knowledgeable, and spoke great English. We asked a ton of questions, tasted a lot, had fun, got surprised, and probably challenged Yuki quite a bit—but he handled everything like a pro every time :) It was a really unique experience for Osaka and showed us just how big and fascinating the world of sake actually is—way beyond what we knew before.
Thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful review — this is Yuki! I’m really happy to hear that the experience felt both fun and eye-opening for you. Sake has such a deep and fascinating world behind it, so being able to share even a small part of that journey means a lot to me. And honestly, I truly enjoyed all of your questions! Curiosity makes these tastings much more exciting, and I’m glad we could explore so many different aspects of sake together — from flavor and temperature to history and regional character. It’s especially meaningful to hear that the experience changed your perspective on sake and showed you how broad the world of sake really is. That is exactly what I hope guests take away from the experience. Thank you again for spending those two hours with me in Osaka. I hope our paths cross again someday for another sake adventure.
