Itinerary
You will start the day at the Montjuïc Mountain, from where you can appreciate the splendid panoramic views of the city. The mountain was a strategy to defend the city against attacks. Now it is home to the famous Miró foundation and the Caixa Forúm. These and other buildings on Montjuïc, perfectly illustrate examples of modern art and contemporary architecture.
After Montjuïc you will head to Barcelona’s coast, passing by the Columbus Monument and the Gothic Drassanes. The beach is surrounded by the latest architecture, best represented by the World Trade Centre and the transformed Old Port. Maintaining its authentic charisma, Port Vell is now full of restaurants, nightclubs and fantastic shops.
You will enjoy a stroll in the Gothic Quarter, known as one of the districts that are part of Ciutat Vella, the old town of the city. In Ciutat Vella, where the history of Barcelona began, you will experience modernity woven with Roman and medieval imprints. There you will learn about the Catalan traditions and Barcelona’s origins, while exploring the enchanting corners, picturesque plazas and the narrow alleys of the Gothic quarter.
To continue the tour we will drive you through the Eixample district, designed by Ildefons Cerdà after 1895 , to expand the city. (The word “Eixample” actually means “expansion” in Catalan). Passing by the streets of this elegant neighborhood, you will note that Cerdà’s concept of urban planning was revolutionary and utopian.
Our guide will than take you to the breathtaking Sagrada Familia. Get inspired by Gaudi's masterpiece, considered as the most emblematic landmark of Barcelona. There are no words to describe the feeling one gets when entering this magnificent temple of Modernism. The organic shapes found throughout its structure, the light filtering through its stained glass windows and the symbolic nature of the building’s sculpted façade will probably be the highlight of this tour.
In this tour you will also get the opportunity to pass through the luxurious avenue of Passeig de Gracia, with its typical Catalan architecture. The avenue is home to the most remarkable façades of modernist buildings, including Gaudi’s La Pedrera, Casa Batlló and Domènech's Casa Lleó - Morera or Casa Ametller.
After visiting Barcelona, we will take the road to the mystic mountain of Montserrat, to discover this awe-inspiring natural monument and learn about its importance to the Catalan people. This magnificent 4,000-foot wonder is easily recognizable by its “serrated” top from which it got its name.
You will visit the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat which enjoys a stunning location, surrounded by a scenic natural landscape before we wander in the monastery surroundings. Enjoy the unparalleled views offered by this region, which was declared as a Natural Park in 1987. We will also discover the Holy Cave where the virgin, represented by the Romanesque statue of the “Black Madonna”, is said to have appeared. The site has, since then, become an authentic center for pilgrimage and prayer. At the end of the tour, after uncovering all the secrets of Barcelona and Montserrat the guide will bring you back to your accommodation.

We were only in Barcelona for two days and we were trying to cram in as much of the sights as possible during our stay and this tour enabled us to do so. We started in Montserrat high in the mountains visiting the monastry and La Moreneta which was absolutely breathtaking and tranquil; a complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. We returned to Barcelona in the afternoon visiting Montjuic, the Olympic Stadium and the Port where we took in incredible vistas. Augusto was an incredible driver as he showed us many of Gaudi's buildings from the comfort of our air conditioned mini van. On foot we explored the Gothic quarter which Isabel brought to life through her stories and histories of the city. In addition to learning about the history of Barcelona and its famous landmarks and buildings, Isabel provided restaurant recommendations, recipes and was thoroughly delightful. The highlight of the day was visiting the Sagrada Familia where we took an audio tour to experience Gaudi's masterpiece. Isabel and Augusto were amazing hosts and we would thoroughly recommend them.
Liana was excellent and very knowledgeable. It was an incredible tour and we all learned so much. This is the way to experience Barcelona!

Wow! What an INCREDIBLE tour with Liliana. She was very informative. We were so happy with her. If you get a chance book with her , she truly is amazing and funny .
We had an absolutely amazing tour with Ramon in Montserrat and Barcelona. Ramon is an exceptional guide, friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. What makes him truly special is the passion he has for his city and its history. He doesn’t just provide information; he brings every story, monument, and neighborhood to life. His enthusiasm is contagious, and by the end of the tour, we found ourselves falling in love with Barcelona, Montserrat, and the rich history and culture of Catalonia. Ramon answered all our questions, shared fascinating insights that we would never have discovered on our own, and made the entire experience both educational and enjoyable. If you’re visiting Barcelona and want a guide who is professional, passionate, and genuinely cares about giving you an unforgettable experience, I cannot recommend Ramon highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful day and memories that will stay with us for years to come!
Stephanie was a fantastic guide. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable but very thoughtful and kind. Multiple times throughout the day she checked in with us to see if the pace was ok and if we were happy with our tour thus far. La Sagrada Família and Montserrat were stunning but having Stephanie for a guide made the day extra special!
Anatoli was so welcoming and very knowledgeable. He gave us great suggestions for our visit while in Barcelona. We had a great tour and day. We felt lucky to get a guide who was friendly , knowledgeable and fun 10/10
We had a great day touring Barcelona and Montserrat with Anatoli as our guide. He did a fantastic job!
Anatoli was an excellent guide and gave us great history of each site we visited. I highly recommend this tour!
We had a great shore excursion tour with Liana! We toured the highlands of Barcelona and Liana arranged our entrance tickets to Sagrada Família. She also gave us so much information and made quite a few stops in Barcelona for us to look at views. She was both the driver and guide. Then she drove us to Montserrat Monastery. Because it was a holiday the parking and traffic was very backed up so Liana came up with an alternate plan. She brought us to the cog railway station and got our tickets and hers and we all went together. She gave us a wonderful tour of Montserrat. She is a wealth of knowledge. It was an awesome day and we highly recommend Liana!
