If you're looking for an authentic experience beyond the beaches, this tour is an absolute gem. My favorite stop was Ataco, one of the cutest towns I've ever visited. It was full of colorful streets, local shops, and the perfect atmosphere to wander around and take it all in. One of the highlights of the day was stopping at the central park in Salcoatitán, where we tried fresh yuca and sampled all kinds of tropical fruits. I tasted fruits I'd never even seen before, and I'm still dreaming about some of them! The views throughout Ruta de las Flores were absolutely breathtaking, and I loved that the day was centered around exploring at a relaxed pace while experiencing the local culture, food, and beautiful scenery. If you want to experience a more immersive side of El Salvador, this tour is definitely worth adding to your itinerary.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best experience on the Route of the Flowers! Taking this tour was the best decision of our trip. The itinerary is perfectly balanced and does not feel rushed at all. The food stops were spectacular, and we loved trying the traditional atoles and the variety of local snacks along the way. The time to walk and shop for crafts in Ataco was great; the town is beautiful and full of color. To top it all off, relaxing in the hot springs was a true luxury. The transportation in a modern minibus with impeccable air conditioning made the mountain trip super comfortable. Attention to detail is 10 stars!
We loved this type of service; we were looking for something within the routine, but this tour offers much more than you could expect. Special thanks to Michael for the personalized attention and for always being attentive to our needs. 100% recommended, we will definitely seek out Beyond The Botanas again to repeat this tour with more friends or take another one of the tours they offer.
We had the best time exploring Santa Teresa with Beyond the Botanas. Because the group size is so small, the whole day felt incredibly private and relaxing. Michael is an amazing host; having both an American and Salvadoran background, he brings the perfect mix of professional, seamless organization and deep, authentic local insight. The culinary stops were the clear highlight—we tasted our way through hidden local flavors that we never would have discovered on our own. If you want an stress-free, high-quality experience that feels like exploring with a knowledgeable friend, this is it!
If you’re in El Salvador, the volcanic hot springs are a must-see! The pools are wonderful and surrounded by lush greenery. Michael was insanely knowledgeable, had such an ease of communicating and kept me laughing on the drive. Bottom line, the hot springs are beautiful, but a guide can make or break the experience. This tour knocked it out of the park. You’ll leave with relaxed muscles and a huge smile on your face!
The Sunday Highland Escape Steam, Clay & Aura tour with Beyond the Botanas was such an amazing experience! Michael was a fantastic guide — very friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole day feel fun and relaxing from start to finish. One of the highlights was visiting the Santa Teresa Hot Springs. The natural hot springs were beautiful and incredibly relaxing, surrounded by amazing scenery and fresh mountain air. We also did the volcanic mud spa, which was such a unique and refreshing experience. The steam, clay treatments, and peaceful atmosphere made it feel like the perfect escape from everyday stress. Everything was well organized, comfortable, and enjoyable. You can really tell they care about giving guests a memorable experience. Highly recommend this tour if you want to relax, enjoy nature, and experience something truly special in El Salvador!
