You will visit the charming town of Rust, famous for its chimney-top nests, and walk the courtyard of the Esterházy Palace, where Haydn composed his masterpieces. Itinerary
Your private driver and guide pick you up at your hotel. As we head southeast, watch the landscape flatten and open up. We are entering the "Pannonian Basin," a region influenced by the warm winds of the Hungarian steppe. It is visually soothing and completely different from the rest of Austria.
We start our visit at the unique Bergkirche (Hill Church), famous for its unusual architecture and as the final resting place of Joseph Haydn. From here, we take a pleasant, easy stroll down towards the city center. We arrive at the magnificent Esterházy Palace. We will admire this baroque masterpiece from the outside, walk through the impressive courtyard, and explore the beautiful Palace Gardens (Schlosspark). Note: We focus on the exterior and the park. Since the palace opening hours vary significantly by season (often closed on weekdays in winter), admission tickets are not included. However, during the open season (May–September) or weekends, if you wish to see the interior, tickets can be purchased on the spot. (Admission Ticket: Not Included)
Then, past the vineyards of Burgenland, we will go to the shores of Lake Neusidler and the town of Rust, the wine capital of the region, included in the UNESCO list. Rust is included in the list of the most picturesque villages in Austria. In a romantic place, with a glass of local wine, our journey will end at the sunset.
Before heading back to Vienna, we drive to the picturesque shore of Lake Neusiedl, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will spend some time here to breathe in the fresh breeze from the vast steppe lake and admire the endless reeds. It is a peaceful, scenic finale to our day and the perfect opportunity to take some beautiful photos to remember the "Sunny Side of Austria."
Sit back and enjoy the ride home. Unlike strenuous hiking trips, this day is about recharging your batteries. You will arrive back in Vienna feeling rested and ready for your evening plans.

This is a great experience tour with a wonderful guide and helpful driver. A well rounded, enjoyable tour with a good balance of relaxation and variety experiences, this tour is highly recommended for someone who would like to visit a small, local winery (great experience) and seeing many different areas when your time is limited.

Wonderful tour experience! Our tour guide Geni was very attentive to our goals for the day in Burgenland. She provided a most helpful history of the region along with pointing out many important buildings and sites on our walking trip. One of our goals was to experience the region’s wines.
