Rongai Route 7 Days

Description
The Rongai route is the only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, close to the Kenyan border. Though gaining popularity amongst climbers, this route still experiences low crowds. Rongai has a more gradual slope than the mountain’s other routes. It is the preferred route for those looking for an alternative to the popular Marangu route, for those who would like a more remote hike, and for those who are climbing during the rainy season (the north side receives less precipitation). Rongai is a moderately difficult route, and is highly recommended, especially for those with less backpacking experience. Although the scenery is not as varied as the western routes, Rongai makes up for this by passing through true wilderness areas for nearly the entire way. Descent is made via the Marangu route.

We were a family group of 12 people from the USA planned our Kenya and Tanzania safari with Mathew from Wild Root safaris. From the start to the end Mathew planned an itinerary that was customized to our needs; he was quick to answer all our questions and took care of everything from our domestic flights to providing assistance with Visas. Our safari was incredible and so much of that was due to our tour leader Hamisi who is knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the wildlife around us. The hotels/lodges they picked were spectacular - all the safari staff was incredibly attentive to our needs. Wild Root Safaris made our lifelong dream of an African safari a reality. It was beyond our expectations. We never imagined our trip being as truly amazing as it was. If you are considering a safari to Tanzania, we highly recommend Wild Root Safaris and Adventures. You will not be disappointed!
I travelled with a group from Singapore. The team was wonderful, always in good mood ! Very helpful. We had great food and the organisation was excellent. They made sure everyone was safe as well. Highly recommend this company.

We did Kilimanjaro, Nov 2018 with a group of trekkers from Singapore, led by Khoo Swee Chiow with Wild Roots, excellent organisation and superb logistics. Staff along the 7days trek, were extremely obliging, never once without a smile on the face. My wife( who did the summit, too) and me, we came to be acquainted with Matthew, the owner of Wild Roots, during our 4days Safari, prior to the summit. He personally drove us thru out the 4days safari, and we stayed at some pretty nice lodging. Thanks for the experience and memories.
