I was disappointed with the Let's See Roatan tour. The chocolate factory was not what we expected. It was basically just a store with a very small area where a few people were making chocolate. The rum factory was the same, mostly just a gift shop. The best part of that stop was actually the beautiful view behind the building. What was most frustrating was that instead of taking us straight to the beach after those two stops, the driver took us to a local restaurant. By the time we finally got to the beach, we only had about an hour before we had to head back to the port. Overall, I don't feel this tour was worth the money. If you're booking it mainly for beach time, be aware that you'll spend much more time at shops than enjoying the beach.
Beach area was super crowded. If you wanted a chair…you had to rent one…chocolate and rum cake experiences were stores….no factory to see how it was made. Beach area at Princess cruise terminal was much nicer than the one on the tour. Also chocolate and rum cakes were also available there at cruise terminal as well. Wish we would have saved the money and stayed at the cruise port.
We had an excellent experience with our guide, Mairy, in Roatán! She did a fantastic job showing us around the island and made sure our entire family had a wonderful time. She was especially helpful while we were visiting the animals, even keeping an eye on our belongings so we could fully enjoy the experience without worrying. The only thing to note is that the pickup point is outside the cruise port, so be prepared for a bit of a walk. Other than that, everything was smooth, and Mairy was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the day. We highly recommend her to anyone visiting Roatán!
Oscar was great!!!!!!! We were late and he stayed behind and still gave us a great tour!!! Best experience.
There were 3 other cruise ships on the island (plus our cruise ship), so the island was VERY BUSY. The monkey, sloth and macaw santuary was crowded but we still had time to see the sloth and monkeys. The stop at the chocolate tasting was pretty much walking around the gift shop, not really a tour. BUT- the chocolate covered pineapple and mint ice cream bar were very yummy. Rum tasting (try the tropical mango!) and rum cakes were good as well. We were informed there were different beach options - ones where you pay $20, $15, or free. Our group of 7 chose free :) For the free access, there were local vendors trying to see things, but they were friendly. We were only there for 2 hours so it wasnt a big deal. Some lounge chairs were available for $15 all day use. The water was clear and perfect ; all sand and no rocks.
Our guide Alanys was amazing. So much fun and she was very friendly and accommodating and knowledgeable.
We had an amazing excursion in Honduras thanks to Nahum! He was an outstanding driver and guide who made our day unforgettable. He took us to see monkeys and sloths, a scenic island tour, a delicious chocolate tour, and even gave us time to relax at a beautiful beach. Nahum was incredibly kind, made sure we had plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy each location, and even took photos for our family. He even stopped off the road to pick us the freshest mangos! They were delicious! Most importantly, he got us safely back to the cruise port with plenty of time to spare. If you’re looking for a fun, stress-free, and memorable excursion in Honduras, I highly recommend Nahum!
Our excursion in Roatan with Phoebe was absolutely outstanding and ended up being our favorite port of our entire cruise. What truly set Phoebe apart was the care and compassion she showed toward my father-in-law, who has both mobility and memory issues. She was patient, understanding, and accommodating throughout the entire excursion, making sure he was comfortable and included every step of the way. That level of kindness meant so much to our family. The only suggestion we would offer is that the meeting instructions could be a little more specific. A more defined meeting location and time window would be helpful, especially for cruise passengers. Since I did not have Wi-Fi on all of my devices, I wasn't able to message Phoebe back when she checked to make sure we were still coming. Because the instructions gave a fairly wide arrival window, I felt terrible thinking she might be waiting on us. However, we were incredibly relieved and grateful that she continued waiting and was there to greet us. Our first stop was the monkey, sloth, and bird sanctuary, where JD was our guide. He was hilarious, incredibly informative, and made sure every member of our group had the opportunity to interact with all of the animals. It was one of the highlights of our day. Next, we visited the chocolate tasting and souvenir shop. Phoebe gave us great advice about local products and helped us make the most of our time there. We then stopped for rum cake and rum tastings, where she took a beautiful family photo for us with the ocean in the background that we will treasure. Our final stop was West Bay Beach, where Phoebe generously gave us a little extra time to enjoy the area. We were able to purchase a light lunch and drinks, relax, and enjoy one of the most beautiful, clean, and safe beaches we visited during our cruise. Throughout the entire day, we felt completely safe and well cared for. Phoebe's knowledge of the island, her friendly personality, and her genuine care for her guests made the experience truly special. If you are considering a tour in Roatan, we cannot recommend Phoebe highly enough. She went above and beyond to make our day memorable, and we would gladly book with her again on our next visit. Thank you, Phoebe, for helping create such wonderful memories for our family.
The experience with the monkeys and the sloths was SOOO much fun. Our guide was wonderful with the animals. I was not a fan of the chocolate and rum tasting, but that is just personal preferences. I left the tasting and went outside and some ladies asked me if I wanted a massage. I told them no. One of the ladies proceeded to massage my neck while I was standing there. I thought she was just trying to convince me to get a massage. She kept on and put some greasy stuff on me and kept massaging. I finally realized she was expecting money. I asked her what it was going to cost me, and she said $60. What???? I told her I did not want the massage. Be careful-they do not give up. They also did the same thing to my brother in law and sister. If I am going to pay $60 for a massage, it is going to be my choice and not in the middle of the sidewalk standing up. Our last stop was the Paradise Beach. The beach was good, but we got cheated big time on our food. On the menu it was $10 for a margarita, $17 dollars for a bucket of beer, and $25 for a large pizza. We asked for water. They brought us our food, drinks, and 4 water bottles. Our total for this was $113. According to my math it should have been 80 for the food and drinks, and I am not sure how much the water was. We were expecting a cup of water not to pay $18.50 for 4 bottles of water. They charged us three different gratuities. So another $23. We won't be eating there next time.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your honest feedback. We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed meeting the monkeys and sloths and that your guide made that part of the tour so memorable. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience with the massage vendors. While they are not affiliated with our company, we understand how uncomfortable that situation must have been. We will make sure to remind our guides to better inform guests about these vendors and to help prevent situations like this in the future. We’re also sorry about what happened at the beach restaurant. The restaurant operates independently from our tour company, so we do not control their pricing or billing. However, we take comments like yours seriously and will share your feedback with their management, as transparency in pricing is very important. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. Your feedback helps us improve the overall experience for our guests, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Roatan and provide an even better experience in the future.
Jamal was an awesome tour guide; very helpful & knowledgeable! The stops were great; sloth/monkey sanctuary, chocolate & rum testing was fantastic!
