Beautiful project, engaged enthusiastic guides from the favela itself, visit to the mosaic house as well with nice football experience to end the tour
Incredible experience. Aureo was an amazing guide and a great football player. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore a favela. Everything was extremely safe and Aureo did a great job guiding us and answering any questions.
It was really fun, we got to walk around the flavela and play soccer and try some food!! Jackson was lovely and so was the rest of the team we were with. They made sure we were safe and had loads of fun.
This was an incredible trip, which totally exceeded my expectations, and one that I just can’t stop talking about I have recommended it to everyone that I’ve met here in Rio. Our guide Àureo was extremely knowledgeable and educated us about the history and culture of the favela. It felt as though we were welcomed by the whole community who invited us into their homes, and we felt completely safe throughout. Playing with the locals on the two pitches was another highlight, especially as our team won! I am so glad that we decided to go on this particular tour, it has honestly been the highlight of my holiday. I would absolutely encourage anyone who is considering this trip to book, you will not regret it.
Our guide’s name was Áureo who was absolutely fabulous. He gave us a real flavour of life in the flavela from both the negative and the positive. It was lovely to see him speak to all the community members and get a real feel as to how life is. We met his mother, and even had cake and drinks within a household. We were welcomed with great hospitality! Unfortunately I had to cut my visit short, as I had to leave for a flight. The team were so helpful in helping me leave on time and went to great lengths to get me where I needed to be. They did not have to do this but did without question. I left the football to my other tourists they had a great time, playing locals and between us. It was good to watch. All in all I would say if you are in Rio - this tour is a must! They are passionate about their community, learning from the past and improving their lives for the future generations. You’ll have fun along the way. Aureo is a great host and often cracks great jokes.
