Our tour guide Alexis was excellent. He was informative and knew the history of the area very well. We visited numerous historical sites while he discussed all of the various Greek, Italian & Ottoman cultures meshed into the city's architecture and culture. He also provided great dining and dessert recommendations that were excellent!
Great walking tour and fabulous tour guide. We learned so much about the fascinating history of Rhodes. Alexis made the tour fun and interesting. Turkish coffee stop was a highlight. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely and inspiring time, hearing the history in such a fun and interactive way was amazing! You could feel the enthusiasm from the guide, which was really nice! We overall had a wonderful time, would definitely recommend!
We were picked up from our hotel (tour operators texted to let us know they were running slightly late) and taken to the tour office by the port. From there our small group of 7 were met by Alexis, our guide, who did a great job telling us the history of the Old Town. He was very mindful of keeping us in the shade on a very hot day. A very interesting tour ( some can be a bit dry) and even took us to a cafe for a Greek coffee. Alexis clearly knew the area well and took us through some picturesque back streets avoiding the crowds which gave us a real sense of the town. Also walked us back to the tour office for the return transfer. Very enjoyable and a good way of getting a feel for the area. Tour was about 2 hours and at a easy pace.
This walking tour was informative, relaxed and entertaining. Our guide Alexis was knowledgeable, as was to be expected, but easy going and engaging. Many walking tours are like school for grown ups. This one isn't. We came away knowing what gives Rhodes its personality and how it has been shaped by its history, especially more recently than might be expected in Greece. This tour is money and time well spent.
