Itinerary
Starting with a pick up in Frankfurt or Mainz area from your hotel at 10:00 we will drive approx. 45 mins to discover the romantic Rhein Valley where the Kings of Riesling in the Rheingau meet the 1000 hills of Rheinhessen. You will get to see small historic villages that are 1000 years old along the Rhine river as it curves its way down to the famous wine village of Rüdesheim. Along the way, we will stop at 2-3 award-winning, historically significant and high-quality German vineyards to learn about dry Riesling and regional varieties including Pinot tasting 10+ wines during each tasting. After all the wine we will stop for lunch to enjoy regional wine tapas that includes local cheese platters, baked goods and charcuterie. So you can sip back ensuing you will try plenty of wines, food and views along the way. We will return to your hotel in the Frankfurt / Mainz area at 5:00. I can also help ship your wines back.

This was a complete wine and fun experience. Karl was extremely knowledgeable and guided our small group through an amazing array of quality wine from the largest of producers to family owned hand made wines. It was a chance to discover the exciting new wine varieties and styles Germany has to offer. A day to remember. Well done Karl.

Carl was awesome and anticipated our every need including some snacks for breakfast. He was amazingly flexible when stated we would like to see a castle on this our trip. He knew of a great one that also had wine. Based on our wine preferences, he was able to suggest some great wines that matched our tastes while also introducing us to some varietals we hadn't experienced before. We were able to meet some of the winery owners. They were very welcoming and proud to share their wines with us. Would definitely book with Carl again in the future.
This was a tour to be remembered. Carl picked us up in our own private transportation and welcomed us with some Brut to begin our journey. We headed to 3 different wineries to sample all the different types of wine produced in the Rhine Region. Carl was a wine expert and was wonderful in explaining all the different type of wine we sampled. I never knew so many different wines were produced in the is region. We had ample time to take many pictures of this beautiful region. This tour was well worth the price and I will plan on doing it again the next time I travel to Germany!

What an amazing tour! Carl is wonderful- he created a fun, light hearted tour for us in a region we hadn’t explored. No way would we have had near the same experience on our own. He is extremely knowledgeable about wine, and he is on great terms with everyone we met, making the experience that much richer. Lunch was great. We enjoyed talking with the two women running the restaurant in a charming small town, learning more about local culture from them. The vineyard views were stunning. And the wines were fantastic. Beyond giving great tours, Carl seems like someone who cares deeply about wine and the Rhine Valley wine community. We would absolutely take this tour again.
