The Reina Sofía also holds works by the other 20th century titans of Spanish art, Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró. The collection principally spans the 20th century up to the 1980s. There are a few pieces from non-Spaniard artists, including Francis Bacon’s Lying Figure, but the focus of the collection is quite solidly Spain. In addition to the paintings, the museum also boasts an impressive collection of sculptures, including some colorful and distinctive works by Miró, and a bust of Picasso by Pablo Gargallo. The crown jewel of the Reina Sofía is undoubtedly Picasso's Guernica in Room 206 on the 2nd floor. But some other paintings move from time to time, and thus can be harder to track. The Reina Sofía organizes works by theme, so in order to see all of the Dalí's, you could conceivably need to cover a fair amount of ground.

A lovely museum with lots to see. There are so many beautiful paintings including Guernica. The rooms are well laid out and there is lots of space to view the artwork. There is a lovey shop and cafe next door. The staff are friendly and helpful. If is a good idea to bring your passport. You are able to take photographs of which is lovely. The artwork is beautiful and signed well in both Spanish and English
Overrated museum advertising, actually few paintings to see beautiful architecture of Nouvel, nice and shady garden...
I NEVER received my tickets!! Please refund my money!!’ You never sent my tickets!!’ You sent only a voucher
Guernica, above all. An absolutely profound statement against cruelty, tolerance towards toxic regimes.
While in Madrid my husband and I visited the Reina Sophia Museum. Our tickets were pre-purchased through Viator. My only comment is that Viator sends multiple messages regarding the visit but the actual tickets do not come until the last day. This was a little frustrating to me but now that I have experienced the process I am not worried. The tickets were on my phone and we went right in!! Very convenient. I would definitely recommend using Viator.
I am unable to review this because it was canceled twice…….. once because there were apparently no tickets available and once because the date chosen was a national museum day and there were no private tours given that day. It was disappointing since it seemed that the reservations were in place both times.
Victor did not send the tickets! I was in a panic waiting. I called phone and no answer. I finally just bought another ticket at the museum. Afterward, I reached out to aviator for a refund. They would not give me a refund because they did finally sent the tickets at 5pm local time! Huge waste of money and terrible customer service. DON BUY THIS ONE!!
Skip the line tickets definitely worth it. Super easy and saved us prob an hour of time in line! Tickets were easy to print.
