Phuket Fishing - Fishing in Phuket is not yet discovered by the crowds. On your Thailand vacation you too can experience the excitement of fishing on Black and Blue Marlin, Tuna, King Fish, Wahoo, Shark or Barracuda in the warm waters of the Andaman Sea around Phuket. Phuket, the 'sea Fish Capital of Asia', offers you fishing all year round. Depart from the pier and cruise to the fishing grounds south of Phuket, about 45 minutes away. Trolling gear is set out on the way. Lunch is freshly prepared (from your catch) aboard the boat and eaten at Racha Island. There is time for swimming and snorkeling in the bay. Racha island has crystal clear water and is full of reef fish. Afternoon, fishing session is focused on game fishing. Big game fish like Marlin and Sail fish are sometimes caught. The most common catch is Tuna and Trevally. Itinerary • 07:30am – 08:00am Pick up and transfer to Chalong Pier. • 09:00am Departure from Chalong Pier begin trolling on the way to Raya islands. • 12:30pm – 01:30pm Lunch is served on board. Optional time for swimming, relaxing and sunbathing, snorkeling. • 02:00pm – 04:00pm Bottom fishing and trolling back to Chalong Pier. • 04:00pm Arrive at Chalong Pier and transfer to your hotel *The tour program is subject to change due to the weather & sea conditions*

The hotel pickup was well-organized. We were provided with lunch on the boat, which was very well organized. The downside is the trolly fishing. With 10 people on the boat, it's impossible. Perhaps they should actively fish all day to keep everyone occupied.

It was overall a good trip for the money the fishing wasn’t crazy and the rods were old so if you’d like a fishing specific trip I’d book private. Snorkeling was fun but we had brought our own gear.

The trip was very disappointing. My expectations wasn't even too big since fishing can't be guaranteed. 1. The boat was overcrowded, 9 or 10 people fishing + 3 or 4 kids on board, and had to be in the same side of the boat when dropping the line. You can imagine how hard it was to keep the line not get tangled to each other. 2. The crew was definitely either lazy or was part of SOP, I don't know. But we only moved once. No burley bucket, not even have more than 1 kind of bait. 3. I asked to use a small part of the oily fish that we caught as bait, because we only caught 5 or 6 baby fish, less than 30cm, but the crew refused. 4. We were promised for 2 sessions of fishing and 1 session of swimming & snorkeling. But it was only 1 session of fishing and 1 session of swimming, no snorkeling offered even though it was mentioned in the website that snorkeling equipment is included. 5. The fishing gear were in the beat up condition. 6. No crew really speak english in the boat, the information in the website wasn't true. Overall, this trip is a huge waste of time & money.

Please do not allow trip dates that are full, to be booked online! I booked and paid online for the specific day that suited my holiday. Then later that day I received an email to say the trip was full so they changed my booking. Not easy or ideal!!

Wow, what an unforgettable adventure! Two glorious hours of cruising aimlessly in the middle of the ocean—truly a treat for those who love staring at endless water. Then, the thrill of fishing for less than an hour (talk about a tease!). A quick dip in the ocean for 30 minutes was a nice touch, because who doesn’t enjoy floating around wondering what’s next? Finally, the cherry on top: another leisurely hour ride back to Phuket town. Expectations? Met… if my expectation was to spend most of the trip on a boat doing absolutely nothing. Highly recommend—if you’re into that kind of thing and feel that its worth it!

Packed boat full of strangers. A long ride to the fishing area while trolling for large fish, but I can't be sure they seriously wanting to catch anything as the lines were quite close to the boat under motor. We stopped at three places and used old and rather beat up reels standing side by side each other fishing off the side of the boat. The crew caught a few fish off the back. We all could've used some tips on what they were doing and we should have been spaced apart more. I could'nt move my reel without fear of hitting someone next to me. Fish were small. We were yelled at to go to lunch on the top deck which didn't have enough seating for all of us. The meal was chicken wings, rice, some sad fruits, and a few veggies, along with obviously precooked fish. I don't think they wanted us to catch fish because then they would have to clean it and cook it like advertised. I didn't see a kitchen on board so I don't know what they would've done. We then visited an area for swimming. They didn't have snorkel gear as they had advertised. We brought along our own and shared it with the rest of the strangers we met on board. All in all it was a good time on the boat because Thailand is beautiful and being in the water is always nice. The crew were okay, but obviously we were just paying guests, so it didn't feel particularly warm or kind. The crew were smoking cigarettes along the way, which was bad for my son's asthma and at times it smelled bad. Final thoughts were that we were part of an assembly line operation and that was it. Not bad, but certainly nothing special or exciting. Meh.

The whole event was so amazing. We have caught a lot of fishes. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They used some of the fishes we have caught to make delicious lunch for all of us. There were chilled water and soft drinks available all the time. The spot we has snorkeling was also very beautiful. It was definitely a must-go.

We had a great day out on the Racha Island Game Fishing & Trolling From Phuket adventure. There was trawling for fish and stationary fishing. Participants caught fish like Barracuda, small tuna, sea cod and kingfish. It was great fun. We were well looked after by the captain and crew member. I highly recommend this day tour when you're in Phuket. Booking is a simple process through Viator tours.
