We enjoyed our tour! Our tour guide was also amazing!
We took the Teotihuacan Pyramids tour today, and overall it was a great and informative experience, though it did have a few bumps along the way. The day started with some confusion regarding the pickup location. I selected Starbucks as our pickup point, not realizing that the Starbucks was located inside the Fiesta Americana Hotel. Fortunately, we arrived at the hotel in time and were able to join the tour without any issues. Upon meeting our initial guide, Kimberly, she explained that she spoke very little English and asked for our patience. While that wasn’t a problem in itself, there was very little engagement with the group during the drive to the pyramids, which made the ride feel somewhat disconnected. Once we arrived at Teotihuacan, the group was divided into English-speaking and Spanish-speaking tours. Thankfully, we were assigned to Ruben, who was absolutely fantastic. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the history of the pyramids. Ruben shared fascinating details about the site’s origins, the challenges archaeologists faced in determining who occupied the area, and the various theories surrounding the purpose of the pyramids. His enthusiasm and expertise truly enhanced the experience. A few tips for future visitors: be prepared to encounter many vendors throughout the site, often every 100 to 200 feet. They sell beautiful handcrafted items, many made from obsidian. While most vendors were not overly aggressive, there are a lot of them, so it’s something to expect. If you plan on shopping, bring plenty of pesos, as many of the individual vendors only accept cash. There is ATM located inside the building prior to brick and mortar stores and exit. The only downfall is that is strictly in Spanish, as there was no other language options. At the end of the tour, there are larger stores where you can purchase souvenirs, although I didn’t compare the pricing. There is also a small convenience store that only accepts cash for drinks, ice cream, and snacks, so it’s wise to carry some cash with you. Despite the initial confusion and lack of engagement during transportation, the tour itself was excellent. The history, culture, and incredible sights make this a must-do experience when visiting Mexico City. And if you’re lucky enough to have Ruben as your guide, you’re in for a truly memorable and educational visit.
This was an amazing experience! Teotihuacan is an incredible sight and Ruben was an expert guide. We learned so much and would 100% do it again.
Great day out exploring the area.
Couldn't have been happier with the half day trip. Our guide, Reuben was tremendous.
Our guide, Yair, was fantastic. He had so much knowledge and was happy to take any questions, and had answers for those too!
Had a fabulous and knowledgeable guide named Yair. Plenty of time to explore on your own and take photos as well as listen to the guide. Lots of steps - come prepared! Slightly chilly in the mornings.
Very smooth experience. Everyone was really friendly & our guide yair was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the pyramids. Would recommend!
Great experience and our guid is great too
