We will then see Villa Monastero, an evocative architectural complex of the sixteenth century, once a convent of Cistercian nuns. Today it is one of the main tourist attractions, with its house museum and botanical gardens that welcome many plant species. It is possible to visit the gardens, booking in advance on the Villa site
Heaven's Gate: Famous for its spectacular storey botanical gardens, it houses the iconic 'Heaven's Gate', a monumental gate that frames the lake in a divine way.
We will skirt the east coast admiring Villa Orlando, Villa La Placida and Villa Trivulzio, magnificent historic residences surrounded by greenery and the famous gardens of Villa Melzi that frame the entrance to Bellagio.
We will end the tour with a breathtaking view of the Bellagio promontory and its historic village, the "heart" of Lake Como.

Beautiful lake tour with Matteo. The boat was comfortable with a shade where we could sit in the stern cushioned bench seat and have a great line of sit to both sides of the lake. We enjoyed a bottle of cold prosecco ; and took so many pictures that our iphone batteries expired. He also offered cold water, either still or sparkling. We felt very special as Matteo stopped in front the more spectacular villas and described the history of each. It was a full 2 hours. Overall terrific experience! As for the cost everyone’s perception of value is shaped by their own life experiences. Try the “Wooden Boat” service. You will consider it a highlight of your stay on Lake Como.

Had an incredible trip with Matteo. He was very friendly and knew a lot about the different villas we drove past. He also made sure we had something nice in our glasses the whole trip. The kids even got to try steering the boat. I highly recommend Matteo as a driver. The kids loved him, he was the best.
