Your tour guide will meet you either at your hotel lobby or at Quarry Bay MTR Station (Exit A), depending on the tour you choose. MONSTER BUILDING - After the meeting, we will take public transportation to visit Montane Mansion, also known by many as the “Monster Building.” It is an architectural complex made up of five old mansions, designed to resemble a walled city. It has recently become a popular filming location, including for productions such as “Transformer IV.”
Hop aboard our iconic Ding Ding tram and ride to the vibrant area of North Point. Along the way, we’ll visit CHUN YEUNG STREET WET MARKET —a classic local favorite where you can still feel everyday Hong Kong life, just as it’s always been. And here’s the fun part: you can’t believe it until you see it—this wet market sits on a narrow street where the tram actually runs right through!
Drop by a FAMILY-RUN CHINESE EMBROIDERY SLIPPERS STORE - the last few "hand-made Chinese embroidery slippers" store in Hong Kong which was started their business in 1960. They persist in offering "Made in Hong Kong" products.
PETTY WOMEN BEATING - Further down to another area for a taste of living culture - an ancient tradition of "petty person beating" (da siu yan in Cantonese) - a Chinese folk ritual to dispel evil, particularly the kind brought by enemies. This folk custom is not only included in the intangible cultural heritage but also published in the international book "Time Magazine" and is widely known around the world.
FAMOUS WANTON NODDLE RESTAURANT - After all the walking, it's time to treat your taste buds and give your feet a well-deserved break. Prepare to be enchanted by the irresistible aroma and flavors of the renowned wonton noodles and broth. Bite into these delectable bite-sized dumplings, lovingly filled with succulent shrimp and pork. Nestled alongside a bed of perfectly cooked noodles and bathed in a fragrant chicken broth, each spoonful is a symphony of textures and tastes that will transport you to a gastronomic paradise.
TRADITIONAL HERBAL TEA SHOP (Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage) - For the last stop, herbal tea has a long history and carries unique folk wisdom and traditional culture. Herbal tea shops can be found everywhere in Hong Kong, and herbal tea has become a staple drink in people’s daily lives.
TRADITIONAL CHINESE CONFECTIONERY SHOP (Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage) - Hong Kong has a long history of making preserved fruits and these are one of the typical traditional delicacies of Hong Kong. This ancient industry has deep roots within the city, reflecting its enduring history.
