Itinerary
Upon arrival at Jodhpur Airport (JDH), Jodhpur Junction Railway Station or bus station, you will be greeted by your English-speaking driver. You can also be picked up at your hotel in Jodhpur and start this Village Safari. Both morning and afternoon departure is available (please refer to Departure Time for details). Visit the Bishnoi Villages where you might be able to See Black Bucks or partridges. During September and March, sometimes you can even witness thousands of migratory demoiselle cranes near the Guda Lake. On the way, you can also see the local life-style of craftsman and shepherds, farmers. After the tour, you will be dropped off at Jodhpur Airport (JDH), Jodhpur Junction Railway Station, Bus Station, or your hotel in Jodhpur.
The village named as Gudha village lets witness the wildlife scenario of the location & interact with Bishnoi families. You get to watch the diverse set of wild animals along with the many species of desert animals. With interacting with the Bishnoi families you shall be able to develop an emotional connect with the village people and their living conditions. On your way from Gudha village towards the next destinations, you shall grasp the rare views of a wide variety of wild animals who reside in the spots that come on your way. Kankani (Block Printers Village): The Block printers village is a must spot to visit if you are on a village safari in Jodhpur. You get to encounter the location where you shall gather the knowledge of people doing handprints by fabrics.
Weavers village The Weavers village is regarded as the land of magic carpets where the local people meet the desires of the customers with keeping alive the famous tradition of the location which is the durry (Rugs). The durry (Rugs) implies the material weathered out of cotton or wool that spreads the colourful tradition, reflecting the primitive form of weaving in the villages of Rajasthan.
Potter’s Village The Potter's Village is prominent for pottery work where you can watch people work on pottery and also try hands with them to create beautiful pieces. This trip was well worth it the Bishnoi Village was very serene and quiet with beautiful scenery. My guide Devi was excellent with much knowledge of the culture. Balaji Forex Tours & Travels was easy to deal with they had everything together very quicly and great communication.

The experience was great in terms of being picked up from our location in a nice jeep to take us around. We went to a local village, a pottery place a rug weaving and a textiles factory which were all super nice to see. Devi was a great driver and taught us a lot about the history and culture. At the places we stopped there was the option to buy things from them - if this your thing then go for it. If you find interaction where you are slightly pressured/feel bad taking up the vendors time and not buying anything, this is not for you.

We were picked up at the arranged time in a jeep, perfect for the hot weather we had. The first visit to the home of a village family gave us a wonderful feel for how the family lived from day to day. Next, a first hand view of a family that is keeping alive a long standing weaving tradition was very special also. Following was to another family home where numerous pottery items could be viewed, as well as being shown how they turn small pots etc on an ancient stone wheel. All in all, a very informative and eye opening glimpse of how so many village dwellers in India spend their days. Very highly recommended.

The morning passed relatively quickly. Ray was a very good Driver/Guide, very friendly. It was very nice to see how carpet making was done, and pottery (even if already seen several times in Rajasthan). My best time was sharing a meal with the women and children in the kitchen. After personally I found it a bit expensive as a tour, especially since each time they try to sell us local crafts.

I would highly recommend this tour. We had a wonderful and informative afternoon with Devi Singh. The company was flexible in agreeing to meet near the villages instead of in town because it was on our from our previous destination. The tour is an excellent chance to see how the people live and work in the villages. At each of the stops, the locals will share their crafts and you will be able to purchase them at wholesale, but a firm "no" is received well. It is an opportunity for the craftsmen to benefit the most from their work. We saw many of the very same crafts in town for higher prices. The quality is of the crafts is outstanding and the people could not be more gracious. Devi was an excellent guide.
