Unfortunately, we showed up for our 6:00pm evening grand canal tour and were told that no guide or boat were available. I tried messaging the provider with no response that evening and the next day with no response. Thanks to Viator for providing a full refund!
We were canceled the reservation that had been previously confirmed. We arrived at tour time and were told it was complete and had been an operator error. I have not received any emails advising of the cancellation or with the refund. I gave the impression that they didn't know the faith that I had hired the tour. We were given no option to change either the date or the time. Very bad experience
Eliza was my guide and at first we were both standing at the meet up spot for awhile both waiting for each other and so it was a little confusing at first but once we got that figured out it was amazing! She spoke very good English and she even had a presentation book with pictures and took the time to explain things to me about the foundational elements of Venice which I loved because I’m an Interior Designer and a builder and that is why I came to study the architecture and understand the structures. She was so knowledgeable and so friendly and easy to talk to!
Barbara was amazing! The tour was so beautiful, genuine, and educational. We had a wonderful time. 10/10 would book again
We were a family of 5 adults and 2 small children. Lara was superb. We did the 2 hour trip. Very knowledgable. Highly recommended.
Grand tour by water taxi The tour of the the canals via water taxi was unforgettable. In our first day in Venice, we were able to appreciate the beautiful vistas and intricacies of the architecture amidst the canals. Elisa, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. Traveling with my elderly mother, she ensured safe and easy transport. It was a magical evening.
Great experience of the grand canal with an amazing guide. She was very knowledgeable and interesting. It was a great way to go around the islands.
Basically you are on a private taxi boat, mostly going through the Grand Canal, some side canals and in the open lagoon. The windows of the boat are dirty from the waterspray and don't get cleaned before the next tour starts. So taking photos or really seeing the sights is obscured. For the most part, the tour guide explained the history of Venice rather than explaining what we were driving past. A conversation better held over a dinner and not an expensive boat ride. So overall we were not impressed.
Unfortunately it rained and the experience was not pleasant, we could not see anything because the windows of the boat fogged up, they should allow cancellation when the weather is not suitable due to rain, additionally the guide was sick twisting, sneezing in such a closed place, which generated unease In the group, he also provided little information so we had to ask him a lot of questions to try to make the visit more lively because in the rain, not being able to see anything was very boring… 2 super long hours
The tour was and boat were nice but we had issues finding our meeting location. Viator had listed two meeting locations and our location tour guide had a third meeting location so we had a late and unfortunate start to our trip as it was frustrating and changed the energy of our experience. They did provide 15 minutes at the end to help rectify but it was not the full luxury experience I had hoped for.
