PRIVATE tour of UNUSUAL and hidden Turin for curious people

Description
What Makes My Tours Unique: 1) a deep knowledge of/focus on architecture and urban design; 2) a warm, witty, and convivial atmosphere—like exploring with a friend; 3) several intriguing anecdotes; 4) entry to private places away from mass tourism; 5) evening and night availability (when the city is at its best); 6) useful digital material sent to you after the tour; 7) dedicated W.App support from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM for any local tips or travel advice during your stay; 8) max 8 people, for a truly personalized experience. This tour focuses on the past, present and future beauty of Turin—its striking architecture, rich art history, local lore, and vibrant lifestyle. You’ll step into the authentic side of Turin to see where locals head. We’ll wander through the ancient Roman and medieval quarter—my absolute favorite neighborhood, where I’ve chosen to live and which I know inside out. With its winding cobblestone streets, picturesque courtyards, and hidden gems, this is the oldest, most vibrant heart of the city where real people live. Together, we’ll discover a less commercial side of Turin that is incredibly tough to uncover on your own or on standard tours. We’ll focus on the subtle, fascinating details that most tourists miss—but you won't! - Is it true that Turinese people are cold and reserved? - Why does the architecture shift so dramatically in the span of just a few blocks? - Did you know the ritual of the "aperitivo" was actually born right here? - Have you ever stepped inside a traditional "infernotto"? Don’t expect to just walk and passively listen: get ready to chat, ask questions, and dive into Turin’s past, present, and future. We'll peel back the surface layers on a journey spanning from 25 BC to the present day. This experience is perfect for you if you want to understand the city through the eyes of a Turin-NATIVE Art and Cinema Historian (with a professional background in Cultural and Artistic Heritage Preservation). Born and raised in Turin, I love sharing the unique spots and intriguing stories you simply won't find in guidebooks. My style is witty, informal, and highly interactive. Forget rigid, uninspired guides carrying umbrellas, leading massive crowds, and reciting lists of memorized dates. I keep my groups small so I can give 100% of my attention to everyone, moving at your pace with a smile. Think of me as your local FRIEND, not a guide! I’ll even share a few anecdotes about my very (and at times, too!) traditional Turinese family. To see why this experience is the most popular and highly regarded in town, take a look at the link in my profile to read over 850 five-star reviews. By the end of our walk, you’ll see Turin through a completely different lens. It’s an investment in your trip that truly elevates your stay. In fact, even locals book this tour to rediscover their own city from a fresh perspective, or gift it to friends and family who always end up raving about it. In just 2 hours, you will experience a deeply authentic side of Turin without the stress of planning, navigating, or studying history beforehand. I’ve done all the homework for you; your only job is to relax, look around, and enjoy the stories. I am completely at your disposal for any questions before, during, and after the tour—whether you need recommendations regarding sightseeing, dining, transport, or local lifestyle tips. (Please note: my tours focus strictly on history, architecture, and culture, so we won't be covering magic legends or doing a food tasting). Because I'll be sharing insider tips to maximize the rest of your stay, I highly recommend joining the tour on your very first day in town to help you avoid tourist traps and plan your remaining itineraries like a pro. ∎∎∎ IMPORTANT: CONTACT ME BEFORE BOOKING. Because I run three different tours, offer multiple languages, and manage private schedules, not all online availability is up to date. Itinerary
In just 2 hours you will see a very significant and authentic part of Turin without worrying about planning where to go, how to access certain more private places, without studying anything about Turin: I did it for you so you don't have to worry about anything , just to enjoy your visit and learn as much as possible in a relaxed way. My tour does not cover legends, magic, ghosts, etc, and please know there will be no sampling, but if you want to grab a quick grab, we can stop by quickly. The particularities of my tour compared to other tours: 1) a deep knowledge/focus on architecture 2) humor and conviviality as between friends 3) many curious anecdotes 4) access to private places away from mass tourism 5) availability even in the evening when the city is at its best 6) useful information material before and after the tour 7) assistance via WhatsApp from 12:00 to 24:00 for any advice on your trip 8) I have 4 cats who love to be pacioccati ;-)
To get an idea of why this tour is among the most (badly!) imitated in Turin, take a look at the (already more than 850) reviews, all positive, of those who have done it before you. At the end of the tour you will see Turin with different eyes: it is an investment of time and money that makes the difference, and I am not the only one saying this, but also those who have done the tour in the first place. Consider that even the Turin residents themselves book the tour to really get to know the city in a new way or even as a gift for boyfriends/girlfriends, family, friends. Who are always enthusiastic about it, because living in a city is not enough to get to know it thoroughly and intriguingly. I will be at your complete disposal for any questions: what to visit, where to eat, transportation, culture, dialect, Turin life... ∎∎∎ Unfortunately we do not receive notifications of questions written here on the site, so always contact me at the W.app number +39 33 94 60 48 85 before booking!

A really interesting and fun tour with unexpected treasures and forgotten history you will never find on your own. Makes you appreciate Torino even more. Excellent guide.
Thank you so much! I really appreciated your company and participation! Enjoy your trip to Aosta and Ivrea!
Melissoula offers an incredible tour experience of Turin. My friend and I had a wonderful evening with Melissoula as she took us on a 2 hour exploration of some of the less visited, but nonetheless, very interesting parts of Turin. She is an excellent teacher who reveals her knowledge in an interesting and meaningful manner. The experience introduced us to some of Turin's history and architecture that left us eager to explore more of the city on our own. I highly recommend Melissoula as a guide when visiting Turin.
I hope to see you both soon In Turin. A big hug and thanks again for the gelato!
Such a great and informative day. It was our first visit to Turin and we learnt so much. I would definitely recommend. Melissoula is such a lovely lady and really passionate about the city.
Excellent! I highly recommend. I went on a really special tour, not just for the tour and class of history and architecture, but mostly for kindness and sympathy. We love it!
Very good visit to one of the neighborhoods of Turin, off the beaten track with a super interesting guide. Melissoula speaks very good French.
We had a great time with Mellissoula today. She knows her subject extremely well. She goes beyond pointing out sites during the tour. She explains the architecture, historical era, and significance of what she is showing us. It was fascinating to learn about the many changes the city has undergone, yet how much it has clung to the original Roman design. She also provided some great insight and strategy on visiting other important sights in Turin. It has helped us get the most out of our short stay in the area. In conclusion, this is a worthwhile tour that will enhance your entire stay
Thank you so much! It has been a lovely morning in your company!
melissoula is the absolute best! she is so kind, informative, and knowledgeable. this tour completely turned our trip around for the better. it was incredible to learn the history of torino shared by a local. we were so inspired by it that we wandered around the city for a few hours, taking it in and enjoying the sites. melissoula was an incredible guide, incredibly sweet, and i am so grateful that we got to spend an evening with her! 10/10 recommend if you’re visiting torino for the first time. we learned so much about the history of torino that i didn’t know. we felt very comfortable asking questions, and melissoula was very quick and happy to answer anything we asked. i hope to see her again when we visit italy next time :)) thank you so much for being so welcoming to us!
Loved the tour around Turin, jt was definitely unusual and very entertaining! We enjoyed it much more than “traditional” tours on the most popular tourists attractions. Highly recommend it!
Thanks Filip for your kind words! I hope you found something special in the art gallery! Ciao!
