Itinerary
Todaiji temple, "Eastern Great Temple" is a Buddhist temple complex that was once one of the powerful Seven Great Temples, located in the city of Nara, Japan. Though it was originally founded in the year 738 CE, Tōdai-ji was not opened until the year 752 CE. The temple has undergone several reconstructions since then, with the most significant reconstruction (that of the Great Buddha Hall) taking place in 1709. The temple also serves as the Japanese headquarters of the Kegon school of Buddhism. The temple is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site as one of the "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara", together with seven other sites including temples, shrines and places in the city of Nara.
Alongside Naramachi and Nishinokyo, Nara Park is one of the must-see areas in Nara City. The vast area covers 660 hectares and is renowned for its free-roaming deer and world famous temples. Feeding the deer is an attraction in itself and special crackers are on sale all around the park. For human refreshments, there are traditional tea houses as well as kiosks selling snacks and souvenirs.
Fushimi Inari Taisha. Designated as an Important Cultural Property, the main shrine building contains five shrines together, these five pillars of Fushimi Inari Taisha are named for the great virtues of Inari Okami that they embody. Inari Okami is known as a deity of business prosperity, the prosperity of industries, the safety of households, safety in traffic and improvement in the performing arts. The 'Senbon Torii' or 1000 tori gates are donations by individuals and companies, and you will find the donator's name and the date of the donation inscribed on the back of each gate.
Its famous Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku)—actually a pagoda made to house the sacred relics of the Buddha—has given this temple the popular name of Kinkaku-ji (“Temple of the Golden Pavilion”), however the official name of this branch temple of the Rinzai-sect Zen temple of Shokoku-ji is Rokuon-ji. The temple was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.
The Kimono Forest is an art installation around the Arashiyama terminal station of the Keifuku Randen Tram Line. Kimono Forest is composed of 600 clear, acrylic cylinders standing 2 meters tall. Within each cylinder is an example of kimono fabric design. There are a total of 32 different traditional Kyo-yuzen designs, Kyo-yuzen being the name for a style of fabric dyeing developed in Kyoto during the Edo Period.
The Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in Kyoto is a popular attraction known for its spectacular scenery. With gentle breezes rustling the leaves as they blow through the bamboo, it's a great place to escape the heat of summer while taking gorgeous photos as memories of your travels.

This tour with Yoskue was the best tour we did on our trip. He came out with and explained everything. Was super accomodating and informative. We loved our day so much and got to do everything. We did alot of other tours on our trip but nothing compared to the way Yoskue conducted the tour.
We had such a great tour with Henry. He was kind, knowledgeable, and made everything feel easy. There’s no way we could’ve seen this much in just 8 hours on our own, he took us to all the must-see spots in Kyoto and Nara and knew exactly where to go for the best photos and quickest routes. Highly recommend!
Great private tour of Kyoto and Nara. Guide was fantastic and it saves a lot of time. Aldo, guide and driver help avoid crowds.
We really enjoyed our day trip seeing Nara Park, KinkaKuJi, other local temples, Arashiyama area, local suggested lunch and the pretty garden area we saw during our site seeing tour. Yoshimura was an excellent 👌🏼 guide. Nice ride and pleasant day for us.
The other traveler’s should know is the private trip is way too expensive, my honest opinion… is not worth paying MORE THAN $1000 there’s no excitement like the bus tour where you enjoy the journey with others and more organised the only convenient of private tour is the hotel pick up… other than that private tour is a bit depressing, Bus tour is the way to go …we have soo much fun in our last tour with bus and most of all way cheaper than private. We learned our lesson in a very expensive way, I would like to say thank you to our Driver Yoshimura San and I would give 4 stars just because he is nice man.
Yoshi’s English is new - about 1 year - and so some of our questions he simply did not understand, but his spirit and enthusiasm and what he did explain were very welcomed. We enjoyed our time with him.
My daughter & I had an excellent day tour of Kyoto & Nara with Ben. Ben showed us the best of these areas and made the day special and memorable. His English is very good and we learnt a lot about Japanese life, culture, language and the food (he took us to a fantastic restaurant where we ate Soba noodles amongst local people.). We simply could not have seen and experienced what we did in one day without Ben’s help. It is clear that he loves his job and wants to share his love of Japan with others. Thank you Ben for a wonderful day!
Amazing 1:1 attention and opportunity to do as much or little as you want. With the rain and kids this was very needed
This tour covered so much culture in Kyoto. We got to see temples, shrines the bamboo forest and Nara. Bong was our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable and very fun. The van we rode in was super comfortable and we stopped for lunch and had the most delicious soba. Definitely recommend!
We had Yoshimura as our private tour guide and he was amazing. He picked us up at our hotel and walked us around every spot in Nara and Kyoto for the day. We learned so much at every location we went to. He even took us to a wonderful place for lunch. I highly recommend Yoshi as a tour guide!
