Itinerary
Following hotel pickup in Bangkok in the morning, depart for Kanchanaburi province with your own private guide. After about a 2-hour drive, make your first stop at the Death Railway Centre, an interactive museum with information and research facilities dedicated to presenting the history of the Thailand-Burma Railway, built under Japanese occupation. The fully air-conditioned center offers visitors an educational and moving experience.
Next, visit the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, a memorial to some 6,000 allied prisoners of war (POWs) who perished along the Death Railway line and were moved post-war to this eternal resting place. Then proceed to the JEATH War Museum to learn more about the notorious Death Railway.
Join a scenic long-tail boat trip along the Mae Klong River to the Bridge over the River Kwai, which inspired a mid-century war novel and film.
After a Thai lunch at a local restaurant, take a ride on the railway toward Nam Tok, passing over an original wooden viaduct constructed in World War II. In the evening, you'll arrive back at your hotel in Bangkok where your private tour concludes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Kanchanaburi area with our guide Ay & the driver. We both found the trip to be interesting & quite moving. Ay was knowledgable & gave us plenty of information about our trip & Thai life in general. Ay was very adaptable & was able to change the itinerary to our needs immediately. Thank you so much Ay for making our trip memorable. 👏👏👏Also a huge round of applause to the driver who negotiated the manic Bangkok traffic 👏👏 at rush hour.
Our guide Benjamat was top shelf. She has forgotten more about the history and region than most will know. Highly recommended.
Siri was great and gave us a great tour But the tour I paid for included a ride on the train but it never happened which was a massive disappoint so be careful when booking
The tour was very, very well organized. The guide knew a lot to tell and was very friendly. Good English so it was easy to follow. In addition, she also adapted the tour to us, making it completely top! Thank you Siri!!
Thank you for taking the tour with us and publish the excellent review!
Our guide was excellent. We learned a great deal of history on this tour which covered comprehensively the story of the abused prisoners of WWII who were worked to death building the rail lines and the bridge over the river Kwai. The two museums and the cemetery are well-worth the price of admission. An added attraction was the sound and light show at night. Our guide seemed to enjoy it as much as we did.
Thank you for taking the tour and writing this great review! Looking forward to see you again with us soon in Thailand!

A very good day trip to an interesting historical place. After an early morning pick up from my hotel we proceeded to Kanchanaburi for a day that included two museums, POW cemetery, longtail boat ride downriver and a very fast return trip back up river to a great buffet lunch before a visit and crossing of the bridge itself. The driver was good and the guideAya was excellent and she provided a very good tour.

We had the best experience on this tour ,Aey our guide was helpful and ensured that we included the train trip on the Burma railway.
As it was a very hot day we found the air conditioned car very comfortable and the driver drove safely knowing exactly how to access the best route to our destination.
Aey was friendly and handled all the logistics expertly and we created a memorable day adjusting the program to suit the heat and what we expected to do.
The railway trip went through some beautiful countryside and it was a pleasure to get away from the cities to catc up with some history.
The museum was well worth seeing and well maintained to create a lasting memory of a dreadful time in history with full respect to those involved.
Well done Aey and our drive
Thank you
Pauline
