Guide was 20 minutes late and had different couple’s names for tour. Took 10 minutes to verify. We were not informed we’d be climbing over 300 steps to top of small temple. Also, not told to wear pants or long skirt to cover knees and something to cover shoulders at another temple and royal palace museum. Guide was knowledgeable and had good English. We rode in Land Rover.
Our guide Son Xay was very good and knowledgeable. Had a good command over English and explained everything in detail. His itinerary was different to what we had. Bit he was accommodating and included everything that we wanted to see. Most importantly he kept us hydrated and offered to carry our water. Would recommend him for this trip.
Guide arrived promptly. He spoke good English. He was very accommodating to our wishes to add the monk’s alms giving. He explained a lot of history of Laos at the museum and temples. Highly recommended!

This tour was so much better than the alms giving tour. The guide spoke good English, very knowledgeable in his explainations of the temples and royal palace visited. The tour guide was a former monk so his knowlegde of the temples were from an insider perspective.
Would recommend this tour especially over the poor alms giving tour we went on.
