The tomb of Ramses IV (KV 2) in the Valley of the Kings is rather different than most other tombs built here. This tomb is by far the most spectacular of the other tombs you will see. The hieroglyphics on the wall depict scenes from the Litany of Ra, Book of the Dead, Book of Caverns, the Book of the Heavens, Book of Amduat, and the Book of the Night. The blue and white colors on the walls inside the burial chamber are very vibrant and you can see the king's sarcophagus made of rose-colored granite. There is also a beautiful scene of goddess Nut on the ceiling, where she is depicted swallowing the sun, and it traveling through her stomach, for Nut to give birth to it. The tomb has so much colour and detail even the ceiling above the sarcophagi with its goddess Nut stretching across the space. The sarcophagus is one of the largest in the valley, even though some of the paintings have deteriorated this is one of the most decorated

A Jam packed Day!

Saber was our tour guide. He arrived promptly to pick us up and we were on our way to thee sites! Before each spot, he sat down with us and explained what we were about to see in each tomb, or each area. Although the tour guides are not allowed to enter the tombs, he made our check in spot very easy for us to locate him after we were done with each one. Saber took us to an Alabaster factory where the men were working on handmade pieces from the precious stone. It's a family business and the great-grandfather of the owner were the first ones to discover King Tut's Tomb! For lunch we stopped at restaurant overlooking the Nile and the food was delicious! Right after we took a short boat ride across the Nile and met our driver to see Karnak!

Great Tour, Great Guide

Khalid is very enthusiastic about his subject, he has a wealth of knowledge and is more than happy to explain or answer questions. He gave a very interesting day, picking me up from the airport with the driver, doing the tour and returning me to the airport at the end of the day. At each stop he explained the story but also allowed time for me to look at the site on my own. His suggestions of tombs to visit were spot on and I was very pleased with my day with Khalid and driver. Thanks very much.

Wonderful tour!!

From the minute Khalid and our driver picked us up at the airport we were completely spoilt. Excellent attention to detail and a thorough knowledge of the Valley of the Kings and temple. Nothing was too much to ask for and he even stopped to quickly help me buy some Egyptian cotton on the way. Thank you so much for a lovely day and cannot recommend Khalid enough :)
