Caminito is the most famous pedestrian street in Buenos Aires. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city due to its colorful houses and its deep historical and cultural significance. Caminito is located in the popular La Boca neighborhood, on the coast of the Riachuelo River and just 400 meters from La Bombonera, the Boca Juniors stadium. It is a 150-meter-long curved pedestrian promenade where you can see important artistic works.

15 min

The Monument to Mafalda is a sculpture dedicated to the most famous character of the cartoonist Quino: 'Mafalda' in which she can be seen materialized on a bench resting. The Monument to Mafalda is located a few meters from where the cartoonist lived, in the San Telmo neighborhood where a plaque that says 'Mafalda lived here' commemorates him.

Recognized by various international media as one of the most emblematic football stadiums in the world, and declared of "sports, tourist and cultural interest of the city of Buenos Aires", it was inaugurated on May 25, 1940. Diego Armando Maradona defined this stadium like "The Temple of the Mouth". Likewise, various sports glories such as Pelé, Zico, Andrés Iniesta and Thierry Henry, among others, have declared that the Boca Juniors stadium has a good experience. The stadium has a capacity of 40,000 seated spectators and 57,000 seated and standing spectators.

20 min

Inspired by the Gran Vía in Madrid, Avenida de Mayo is one of the largest and most important arteries in Buenos Aires. Tour the city from Plaza de Mayo with the Casa Rosada at one end, to the National Congress building at the other. Officially inaugurated in 1894, it is worth a visit, since it is like taking a trip through the entire history of the city.

15 min

It is a large indoor market that is located in the San Telmo neighborhood. Although it preserves old shops selling vegetables and meats, today it is a tourist place and antique dealers abound. The old "neighborhood" stalls that have been preserved for several decades coexist with the more recent antique dealers and related such as the tourist boom of San Telmo. The building also includes some stores that have their own entrance from the street, among them greengrocers, liquor stores, a restaurant and two notable bars: “San Pedro Telmo”, and “La Coruña” .1

15 min

The Puente de la Mujer, one of the emblems of the Puerto Madero neighborhood, is the first work in Latin America by the renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and represents another sign that the City permanently seeks to position itself at the forefront of art and architecture in the whole region. It is a revolving pedestrian bridge with one of the largest turning mechanisms in the world, designed to allow the passage of sailing boats that navigate the docks of Puerto Madero. The work, made in Spain and donated to the City by an individual, represents the image of a couple dancing tango, where the white pole symbolizes the man and the curved silhouette of the bridge the woman.

20 min

Inside the Parque 3 de Febrero, in Palermo, is the Rosedal, with a collection of more than 18,000 roses and a lake that surrounds it. It occupies a space that belonged to the villa owned by Juan Manuel de Rosas, until it was defeated on February 3, 1852 at the Battle of Caseros. The work began with the landscaper Carlos Thays, the same one who built the Botanical Garden, Avellaneda Park and Lezama Park, among others. Later, it was completed by his disciple Benito Carrasco in 1914. Every July when the pruning season begins, residents and tourists approach gardeners to receive flowers or cuttings from which new species can reproduce. In this way, in winter the rose bushes bloom healthy and strong to reach their maximum development point in October.

It is located in the exclusive neighborhood of Recoleta, which owes its name to the fact that there was the convent of the Recollect monks, to which the neighboring Basilica Nuestra Señora del Pilar also belonged (in the old monks' garden the cemetery was built ). It is the most visited in the city, due to its numerous and imposing mausoleums and vaults, belonging to many of the main protagonists of Argentine history, such as that of Eva Perón (Evita), one of the most popular tombs. It is also worth a visit for its architectural value, since it is a sample of the times when the country was an emerging economic power and the main families of the city competed to build splendid pantheons. Many of the vaults and mausoleums are the work of important architects and are adorned with marbles and sculptures; more than 90 vaults have been declared a National Historic Landmark.

20 min

The Athenaeum Grand Splendid was chosen by the British newspaper The Guardian as the second most important bookstore in the world. Chosen over the old Grand Splendid cinema theater in the Recoleta neighborhood, it retains its former splendor and elegance, with the dome decorated with frescoes, the original railings and the intact decoration. In the old stage - with the velvet curtain ajar - there is a bar that invites you to sit down, book in hand. You can also take advantage of the armchairs that are on both sides of the main room or be located in the exclusive boxes that function as small reading rooms. In the basement there is an area dedicated to children's books, and the upper floor is dedicated to exhibitions and exhibitions.

An amazing tour!

We had a great fun exploring Buenos Aires with Martin. He is not only a knowledgeable guide but a very nice person. He answered tons of our questions and had an interesting conversation about football and local history with us. We visited main tourist attractions of the city and then had lunch in the restaurant where he told us about the food there and suggested the items from the menu. The food was very delicious. He also gave us suggestions about other tours and explained what and how. We really appreciate Martin for his excellent work. It is visible how much he likes his job and his city.
