The name on the bus picking us up was changed and we had a difficult time finding it.....Enjoyed camel ride and viewpoint of Atlantic meeting the Mediterranean. Nice tour leader. Bazaar visit was not as good as expected.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the confusion regarding the name displayed on the bus. We are glad you enjoyed the camel ride, the views where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea, and that you found the tour guide friendly and helpful. We appreciate your comments about the bazaar visit and will take them into consideration as we continue improving our tours. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you again in Tangier.
It was a large bus tour- but probably more suited to a smaller group as originally described. Guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating at times, but pace was too fast when walking. Very interesting and good places to see.
Thank you for your review. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the sights and found our guide knowledgeable. We appreciate your comments regarding the walking pace and will take them into consideration. We hope to see you again in Tangier
Great tour guide Noori . Be prepared to walk Alot!!!!! Was disappointed in the Moroccan food at the restaurant they took us too . The music was good . Enjoyed Hercules Caves but be prepared to pay an extra $8 euros if you want to walk into the actual caves where the cave opens up to the ocean. A bit misleading to market the visit to include the caves . Yes the price includes the Hercules museum but not the caves
Thank you for your review and for your kind words about our guide, Noori. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour, the music, and your visit to the Hercules area. We appreciate your feedback regarding the restaurant and will take your comments into consideration. Regarding the Hercules Caves, our tour includes the Hercules Museum and the sightseeing visit to the Hercules Cave area as described in the itinerary. The archaeological cave section with the famous opening to the ocean is managed separately and requires an additional entrance fee, which is not included in the tour price. Thank you again for sharing your experience. We hope to welcome you back to Tangier in the future
Tangier North Tours Tangier may be an ok company but we got a scammer for a tour guide. We did the camel ride and Hercules cave in about 40 minutes. We spent the next 5 hours following this nut ball around in the market going up and down steep stairs as it became obvious he was looking for shop keepers to give him a piece of the action while we sweltered in the heat with no respite. He didn’t orate anything and didn’t care if he lost any scragglers.,as more than 50% were 60 or older, we were all suffering and getting quite exasperated. He owed us lunch and seemed to haggle for that as well. All beverages including water was an upcharge. Those of us struggling the most were seated separately from the rest and were forgotten about. The guide finally realized we weren’t served and we were given part of the dinner everyone else got. Some of us were trying to figure out how to get back to the ship on our own but we were lost in the labyrinth of the souk. Going on hour 6 of a 4 hour tour I told the guide our ship was closing the doors at 5:15. We went to two more places that obviously agreed to give him kickbacks. Had one more walk of 50 yards and were waiting for the bus. We got back to the cruise port with 30 minutes to spare. We missed two stops of the tour. Everyone was quite furious at Nori and some got sick from heat exhaustions I logged over 5100 steps on the tour which aggravated my COPD and confined me to a wheelchair the last two days of my cruise. I don’t blame Viator. I blame this particular tour company for not vetting their guides more. This guide was straight up trying to profit at the expense of our health and welfare. The say the tour was any fun would be a lie. We were all exploited and we knew it. I’m sorry we didn’t get to see the beauty of Morocco. This guide robbed us of the short time we had there.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that our guide followed the planned itinerary, which includes both sightseeing and time in the Medina and local markets, an important part of Tangier’s cultural experience. No guest is ever required to make purchases, and our guides do not receive commissions from shops visited during the tour. We are particularly concerned to hear about your comments regarding the heat and your health condition. The guide’s intention was to keep the group together and ensure that everyone returned to the ship on time. According to our records, transportation was provided back to the port before the ship’s departure. Regarding lunch, the meal included in the tour was provided as scheduled. Additional beverages may be charged separately by the restaurant, depending on individual orders. We sincerely regret that you did not enjoy your day in Tangier. Our goal is always to showcase the beauty, culture, and hospitality of Morocco, and we appreciate your comments as they help us continue improving our services.
I would never reccomended this tour to anyone. It was a bait and switch, lie and swindle experience from the beginning to the end. I should have canceled it before it started. The Tour was described as private. A few days before we were scheduled to go on the tour they informed me that 49 other people would be on the "bus" for my private tour. They said admission would be included, they said water bottles would be provided, they said we would start at 9am. Promises that were not honored. We skipped a good portion of the itinerary. I am so disappointed with the lack of organization and outright misinformation. I didnt get to experience the culture, history or have the PRIVATE local experience i was hoping for. 😔
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. Due to the exceptionally high number of cruise passengers visiting Tangier on that day, we contacted guests in advance to explain the operational changes and provide an alternative arrangement. We understand that this was disappointing for travelers expecting a private experience. We would like to clarify that our intention was never to mislead anyone. The tour still included transportation, guiding services, sightseeing highlights, and a traditional Moroccan experience. However, we acknowledge that the group format differed from the private tour you originally booked. We regret any confusion regarding the schedule, included items, or itinerary. On busy cruise days, timing and logistics can sometimes require adjustments to ensure all guests are accommodated safely and returned to their ships on time.
Very disorganized. Tour started 50 mins late because of other members not finding the meeting point, which could have been avoided if bus was labeled better and the sign held by the guide was more visible. A lot of the points listed in the tour were just drive bys and not actual stops. There were only 4 actual stops - Cape Spartel, Hercules Caves, Camel Ride, and the Medina. Cape Spartel offered picture opportunities with signpost of Atlantic & Mediterranean. The Hercules Caves was very disappointing. When we go there, there were 2 entrances. We were told to go to the one on the left. It was a small cave filled with tacky decoration and apparently was a gift shop. After leaving that cave, we asked what the other cave was, and the guide said that was the actual Hercules Cave but it’s not included in the tour so if we wanted, we had to pay €10 on top, and everyone in the group has to want to go in. Since a group consensus was needed, we weren’t able to go in. The guide should have been unfrosted with the situation from the start so we could have decided to go in in the first place and not go to the cave turned souvenir shop. The camel experience was the only redeeming factor of the entire tour. Though there were only 7 camels for our group of 40 and had to wait our turn, it was worth it. When we got to the Medina, we were taken to a restaurant for the “free meal” they offered us to offset the fact that we booked and paid for a private tour, but it became a public group tour “due to multiple bookings”. When we got there, the dining room was full of other tour groups so our family was split up in different floors, and it took a long time for us to be served. We also had an incident when they laid down orange juice on our tables which we thought were included in the package, but ended up being charged for on the way out. Most of those in our groups were already very angry so they ended up not charging for them. However, those on another floor ended up paying for the orange juices that were never really ordered. Most of our time was used up in the restaurant and right after, we were led to a spice and oil shop that gave us a lecture on Moroccan products and sold them to us. Again this felt very scammy as part of a paid tour. Afterwards, we were brought to an antique shop, and were brought around the market in a line and no free time to explore on our own. We literally just went through the market in a line, and didn’t get to enjoy the experience. Overall - I DO NOT SUGGEST this tour. It was supposed to be a private tour which turned out not to be, and only the CAMEL experience was worth it. Everything else felt scammy. This is the worst tour I’ve done out of all the online providers.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. On busy cruise days, meeting points and timing can sometimes be affected by high passenger volume, and we do our best to assist all guests in locating the guide as quickly as possible. Regarding the itinerary, the tour includes a combination of sightseeing stops, drive-through highlights, and cultural experiences as outlined in the program. Cape Spartel, Hercules Cave area, camel ride, and the Medina are part of the main stops, while some viewpoints are intentionally included as panoramic drive-by sections to cover more ground within the available time. For Hercules Caves, we would like to clarify that the main archaeological cave entrance is subject to a separate ticket managed by the site authorities and is not always included in the tour price. The alternative entrance and surrounding area are part of the guided visit. The lunch experience is arranged as a complimentary meal for guests, and seating may vary depending on restaurant capacity on peak days. Any beverages outside the included items are typically charged by the restaurant, and we regret any confusion regarding this. We also understand your comments regarding shopping stops. These cultural visits are optional parts of the itinerary intended to showcase local craftsmanship, and guests are never obliged to purchase anything. We appreciate your feedback, and we are sorry that certain aspects of the tour felt rushed or not aligned with your expectations. Your comments will be reviewed with our team to improve organization and communication in the future.
The one thing they did well was the promised camel ride on the beach. That was amazing! We also saw a snake charmer, which was very interesting. Some downsides. We were changed from a private tour to a small group tour a few days before our tour. We were promised lunch, but ultimately declined due to feeling that our group was not getting exactly what was promised. We did not see the Hercules cave, and did not go to all of the promised spots, but were taken into a couple of stores where we were targeted for sales of tablecloths and apothecary items.
I have mixed feelings about this tour. I liked the guide and what we saw. But….. We booked a private tour and were given one with 20 people. The reason given was that there two large cruise ships in port. The truth is that they accepted too many bookings. They offered us a free meal that was already included. In addition, we didn’t go to the synagogue or the larger cave of Hercules. We didn’t spend an hour at the Medina. All were on the itinerary. I have requested a partial refund. Given their attitude so far, I have little hope.
One of the best port excursions we have ever taken. Excellent guide and driver. Well paced and never felt rushed. The camel ride was fantastic followed by some wonderful sites - finishing up with a traditional Moroccan lunch.
We were disappointed with this tour. It was booked as a private tour but the day before we got a call that they didn’t have enough guides so we’d be in a small group of 15. They said we had no choice de we went along with it. While we did follow some of the itinerary, we never went to the synagogue or one other location listed. We did however get herded into a couple of stores where it was clear that the guide had a deal to bring us in for a sales pitch. Muhammad was our guide and he tried hard but was difficult to understand & didn’t provide much information about the culture or sights. Overall would not recommend this tour.
