In this private walking tour, we will explore the picturesque historic sites of The Rocks. This area is the birthplace of modern Australia, and any tour of this city should start here. The tour guide will run the tour exclusively for you or your group (up to 10 guests). This is a very intimate experience to make you really enjoy the rich history of the oldest neighbourhood in Australia. We will reveal how Britain created a penal colony on the other side of the world and what the first convicts found when they first arrived. We will explore hidden cobblestone alleyways to unveil the harsh living conditions of this first settlement. We have tons of fun anecdotes to bring this historic district to life. Sydney Harbour is the perfect background for this tour, and we will explore all the secrets behind the two major projects that have put Sydney on the map, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and The Sydney Opera House. The tour will conclude with uninterrupted views of the iconic Sydney Opera House. We will discover its unique story before we leave you to portrait this landmark from its best angle.

This rating needs six stars, like the Australian flag (and you find out why there are six stars on it in the tour!). Oscar was an amazing guide. He packed over 200 years of history in two hours while getting to see some terrific sights. We were able to ask plenty of questions, and saw parts of The Rocks that we would never have seen otherwise. He really brought the history of the area to life. Please take his instructions seriously about comfy shoes… it is on historical streets and uphill. Must do!
Oscar was our tour guide and he was awesome!!! Great first impression of Sydney and a vault of information on the area. He even gave us some tips on how to make an authentic Spanish dish my husband asked about.

If you are having doubts this is the message to stop thinking and book with DS Tours! Great experience. It was a rainy day and yet still the best plan we could've had. We have been living in Sydney for a few months and finally got to know more of the Australian culture, fun facts and history that otherwise we wouldn't have known.
