There is no better way to learn about a place´s culture than a food tour! Embark on this adventure, feel like a local and have lots of fun learning about the popular and exotic Brazilian treats! Its ingredients, textures and history. Discover why the Brazilian food is some of the most nutritious and interesting in the world, and also caloric! While we embark in this gastronomical journey, we'll also visit THE most beautiful neighborhoods in Rio: Santa Teresa, Urca, Flamengo and Lapa! We'll have the opportunity to visit a typical street market where we will learn all about Brazil´s native fruits and vegetables, we´ll taste typical delicious carioca savories such as empada, tapioca, pão de queijo, the feijoada soup, the world-famous Brazilian açaí, coffee and caipirinha plus wonderful deserts too! We may also visit the popular Brazilian Northeastern market in São Cristóvão, where we will listen to the typical music from the region and taste the salty or sweet Tapioca crepes.

Itinerary
We´ll begin our wonderful tour tasting our popular super-food açaí and the candy desserts brigadeiro and quindim! (optional at own expenses)
We´ll try the delicious Caldinho de feijão, a type of black bean soup so you can get the taste of Rio´s passion! (optional at own expenses)
We´ll have the unforgettable experience of visiting a fruit and vegetable street market in Rio to learn more about our exotic typical food! (optional at own expenses, market neighborhoods may vary)
We´ll try different Cachaça flavour bottles.
We´ll taste the tapioca, our nutritious gluten-free crepe made of Cassava starch! (optional at own expenses)
We´ll end the tour on a very popular bar in the gorgeous Urca neighbourhood, and by a great sunset view, we´ll taste the savorings empadinhas (mini pot pies with a filling of your choice: hearts of palm, shrimp, or chicken.) and the pastel. Yummy Yummy! (optional at own expenses)
While we admire the whole of the Copacabana seafront, we will visit the most traditional bakery in Brazil, the Confeitaria Colombo and its delicious pastries.

A great experience to travel around the city with an experienced guide who knows the language and history to provide more context about what we are seeing and eating.
This tour provides a great overview to typical foods enjoyed by Brazilians. We experianced a popular local street market. And enjoyed classic dishes of northern Brazil. Our guide Gabrielle had good knowledge of the local cuisine. We have been on over 20 food tours in many countries and this was a memorable one for its representation of the local cuisine.
Great food, great vibes , great everything! Flavio was such an amazing guide having knowledge of all the food I ate but even more better the culture of Brazil. Great way to know the city and enjoy the food. Highly recommend!
Flavio was a wonderful guide, and provided the history of the various neighborhoods we visited. There were 6 stops and we had a good variety of tastes. You have to buy your own food, but everything was reasonably priced.

Gabby was our tour guide and she was great! Our flight was 3 hours late, which made us late for our hotel pickup. Then there was a mixup with where we were to be picked up, but Gary and Alex (our driver) were very accommodating and took us to a wonderful Brazilian restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was superb. We only were able to experience one place Due to the late pickup, but I would highly recommend this tour and would Definitely book it again.

Gabby was an amazing and knowledgeable guide and we really got to know the wonderful city of Rio through the food. It was our first day in Rio and the best way to see so many neighborhoods and try so many traditional foods. The best part part was the flexibility in trying foods; you could get what you want according to your tastes and needs. We highly recommend this tour.
