We will start our tour at the Farol da Barra, where we will enjoy the spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean and the entrance to the bay. This neighborhood was the first Portuguese settlement in America.
Pelourinho, the old city of Salvador, was built in the Cidade Alta (upper city), as an acropolis. We will discover the extraordinary history and architecture of Salvador, as well as the rich mix of cultures that makes it such a unique city in all of Brazil. You will be taken on an in-depth adventure through its historical center, with its pastel colored houses and streets paved in cobllestones, home of the first capital of Brazil.
Formerly, the chapel of the largest Jesuit seminary outside Rome, the Basilica Cathedral is currently considered one of the most beautiful churches of Brazil decorated in baroque & mannerist styles. Its sacristy is considered the largest in South America.
The first church & Monastary built by the Franciscans in South America is one of the most stunning decorated baroque style churches in Brazil. The opulent interior features ceder woodcarvings, covered in gold leaf. This church houses the largest collection of Portuguese tiles outside of Portugal.

My car is a black Toyota Corolla XEI 2023. For larger groups, I can provide a confortable van for transportation. I can pick up travelers at hotel, in the Old Town or at the Cruise Ship Terminal. For hotels outside the area specified above, I charge a fee for pick up and drop off at the hotel.

It was a fantastic private tour on the 6th Jan 2026 . From this tour ,the guider Carlos intrduced full history of Salvador. We have been to a lot of hot spots sightseeings: The crowded narrow stones paved lane with full colours of cultural to represent african immigration religions, cousines,dancing singings . sea view high platform colum with unbalanced Jesus cross damage imagin, hand made african clothes arts ,etc The most touched me is the song : they don't care sung by MJ was in here produced and one house balkon and walls still hung MJ photo to memorize pop king ....so much unforgetable deep history made me touched ...

Carlos is a guide who speaks French well He knows the story of Bahia , who tells us with passion: the Candomblé , the capoeira , the percussion , the whole Affrobresilian culture It was a beautiful discovery I recommend it.

Tour was excellent we enjoyed the city and the information Ana gave us. Was really good to see the bands, eat acaraje, laque a and drink coconut water with lemon.
