It is also called as “Saigon church” or “Virgin Mary church” and a favorite place for local couples to take pre-wedding photo shot. Saigon Central Post Office: Its architecture will surprise you at the first time. Built in 1891, and not designed and constructed by Gustave Eiffel (who designed the famous Eiffel Tower) but Alfred Foulhoux. Thao, the tour guide, did an amazing job. She took us several locations within just 4+ hours. However, the organizing company asked me to pay $15 extra for a Japanese speaking tour guide. It was 6pm the day before the tour. There was no other choice but to pay. Not a good business at all.
We had another great day with Tuan as our guide in Saigon. We toured the Presidential Palace, the Post Office, Book Street, the war museum and visited the pink church. He also was able to get us a great table in the Oasis fish cafe, where he ordered a fantastic lunch! With his knowledge and ability to arrange everything with a private driver, we maximized our time, doing a lot in a half day tour. Tuan is amazing, and his English was great! What a great end to 34 days in Asia.
We did three days in Saigon with our infant and the agency booked the most fabulous and flexible trip for us. We had an incredible time - they were easy to communicate with and friendly prior to the trip. Thank you!
