Amazing experience!

Lucia's cooking class was an absolute highlight of our trip, fun, unique, and completely unforgettable. She welcomed us into her beautiful home, and from the moment we arrived it felt less like a class and more like being hosted by an old friend. Lucia is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Mexican food and cooking traditions, and that passion made every step of the experience engaging and memorable. Her warmth as a host made the whole group feel completely at ease. We left with full stomachs, new skills, and great memories. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area!

An amazing private cooking experience to kick off our trip!

Cooking with Lucia was an absolutely phenomenal way to start our trip in Mexico City. A private cooking experience, my girlfriend and I met Lucia at the market and got to tour it – meeting different vendors, learning about product and spice selection, and getting to meet vendors at the market for a quick bite! Afterwards, we went back to Lucias beautiful home to cook our meal using the fresh ingredients selected at the market and got to work! Lucia was knowledgeable, patient, and paid great attention to our requests for the dishes we made (hosting-friendly ones!) Our menu was fantastic and as someone with culinary experience it was a great way to try some new dishes and learn new techniques! Leaving the experience with Lucia, I feel confident to make the dishes on my own. Adding to an already great experience, Lucia went out of her way to share the recipes and recommendations for the rest of our stay in Mexico City. The next time we're in the city we'd love to visit again! Thank you Lucia!!!

Wonderful Cooking and Learning Experience with Lucia!

My family and I just had the most amazing cooking and learning experience with Lucia! My wife and I love to cook and try to do a cooking class when we visit new countries and cultures. So we have done many over the years and our experience was Lucia was one of the best! We were with our two daughters and sons-in-law so there were 6 of us. Lucia lives in a beautiful home with a spacious kitchen. After we arrived and put on our aprons she explained in detail what we were going to cook and the process. Her English was perfect. She then put us all to work giving us specific tasks to do and managing all of it. Lucia also had an assistant, Eva, who was helping us with various techniques and kept things clean and organized. We made many dishes: two salsas, red and green; two types of quesadillas, huitlacoche and squash blossom; sopes with beans and chorizo; a cactus salad; green mole chicken; and a dessert made with the cactus Xoconostle. We also made all of the tortillas we used, including kneading the masa, and pressing them differently for the quesadillas, sopes, and the ones we ate with our meal. Having been a teacher of gastronomic history before starting her cooking school, Lucia taught us a lot about the food as we were making it. After we prepared all the food, she served us what we had cooked, along with drinks (beer and tequila for those who wanted it), and we feasted on it all while enjoying her backyard view. Lucia provided recipes for what we had cooked by email and offered to answer any questions we had. The whole experience was great and I cannot recommend this cooking class highly enough, especially for a family or small group of friends. Thank you, Lucia!

Fun cooking class!

We had a great cooking class with Lucia. The class was held at her home which had a large and roomy kitchen. Her backyard was beautiful. She gave us options of what to cook so we had input for the menu. The recipes were simple enough that we knew we could replicate at home. Her English was fantastic so we understood everything she was explaining to us. It was a lot of work and everything turned out great! Definitely recommend this cooking class with Lucia!

Amazing market tour and cooking experience

Lucia is a fantastic guide and host. Couldn't recommend this enough. We met at a traditional market and we were basically pointing at all the fruits, vegetables and spices asking what everything is, and she never let us down. Plus all her contacts in the market led to lots of free samples! Lucia contacted us a couple of days before the tour to send a draft menu and to check for any requests, which was a really nice touch. We then went back to her beautiful home and cooked together. Making fresh salsas, tortillas, quesadillas, mole and so much more. We had a great time. Thank you so much Lucia!

10/10 Amazing experience, do it if you can

10/10. This was our favorite thing we did in the entire trip. We were a group of 5 (parents and adult kids.) Lucia was friendly, super competent, and fun to be with. The market tour was great (buy extra chiles to bring home!) and her house/kitchen were both beautiful and well-appointed. For apps, we made tortillas, sopes, and quesadillas (a fried dumpling) with chorizo, huitlacoche, cheese, beans, and squash blossoms. We also made two salsas. Main dish was chicken with a red mole; dessert was some amazing poached cactus fruit (sorry, I don't recall what it was.) Everyone had a marvelous time--it was relaxing, entertaining, and filled with good conversation. Highly recommended.

A Cooking Experience We're Still Talking About

We could not be more thrilled with our experience with Lucia. She met us at the market and gave us a tour of some of the kiosks and gave insights for some of the ingredients we were going to use that day for our class. From there, she drove us to her lovely home where we spent the next 3 hours preparing our dishes. We appreciated that this was a hands-on experience. She guided and gently corrected as we prepared native dishes. (She wrote to us ahead of time to ensure that we liked her plan and made amendments based on our suggestions. ) After preparations, we sat on her lovely appointed patio and ate the fruits of our labors. If you're looking for a unique experience while visiting beautiful Mexico City, I highly recommend this. Lucia, I hope you see this: If you're ever in the Washington, DC, area, allow us to host you in our home. It's our turn to cook. Julio and Michael
