Itinerary
Our tour guide will meet you at your Bangkok hotel lobby for pickup. Next, our first stop will be at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.
Maeklong Railway Market is a traditional Thai market selling fresh vegetables, food, and fruit. The market is unique because it occupies part of a train line. A few times a day, a train runs directly through the market. A few minutes before the train comes, vendors lower their umbrellas and move some of their produce away from the train tracks. Some are left on the ground, with the train passing right over them. Amazingly, nothing gets damaged or broken, and as soon as the train passes, the vendors move their goods back onto the tracks and continue as normal (until the next train arrives).
After lunch, you will head to Wat Phet Samuth Woravihan, a riverside temple that offers both spiritual significance and beautiful views. This peaceful temple is an ideal spot to learn about Thai culture and history while enjoying its scenic surroundings. The temple’s architecture and tranquil atmosphere make it a perfect place for reflection.
Finally, visit the Wat Bang Kung is an ancient temple in Samut Songkhram, Thailand. It was built in the Ayutthaya period. It was the site of the Battle of Bang Kung between the Konbaung Dynasty and the Thonburi Kingdom.
Arrive at the jetty pier and take a long-tail boat ride along the winding canal to the floating market. Traditional Thai village life, old Thai houses, greenish gardens, and temples will be seen. On arrival at the floating market, it was almost untouched by the modern world. At the DamnoenSaduak Floating Market, you can see the active market life of people selling and buying things on their boats. There are different boats in all shapes and sizes, and you can find a variety of local goods, food, and fruits.
At approximately 2:00 PM, you will begin your return journey to Bangkok. The drive back is a relaxing 1.5-hour ride, giving you a chance to unwind and reflect on the day’s experiences. During the ride, you’ll also get to enjoy views of the countryside. By 3:30 PM, you will be back in Bangkok, where your guide will drop you off at your hotel. The tour concludes with you having experienced some of the most famous attractions near Bangkok, rich in culture, history, and beauty.

This is a fun day trip out of Bangkok. Both my driver and my guide were very friendly and attentive and made my day out at the markets feel comfortable and enjoyable. The markets themselves are quite busy/ touristy but also fun and definitely not to be missed while in Bangkok.

What an amazing day. I booked this tour day before with a pickup from my hotel. My guide, Oil, found me. The car pulled up and off we went. It was about an hour drive out to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market with plenty of sites to see along the way, and Oil was narrating as we went along. We got to the River Market and found our boat and took off. About halfway through, I asked if I could get a shot at driving the long boat, and the operator said I could. I guess being a professional boat captain myself helped convince him. We made it back to the area where we boarded and walked around a bit, then left and headed towards the Maeklong Railway Market. We found a good spot to watch the train come in and it was something to see and experience. On the way back to Bangkok we stopped at the Maeklong Salt Lake Farm, had some coffee, some Sticky rice we had gotten at the market and I put my drone up for some nice shots of the operation. Highly recommend this trip and Oil as a guide.

Great experience…… The market was very busy on water , I couldn’t believe how fast the venders pick up their items before the train passes by. My tour guide AYE was awesome!!
