Following hotel pick up from your hotel in Bangkok City Area at 08:30 am by our English speaking guide, depart to Kanchanaburi province. On arrival at Kanchanaburi your first stop will be The Thailand Burma Railway Centre what is an interactive museum, information and research facility dedicated to presenting the history of the Thailand Burma Railway. The fully air conditioned center offers the visitor an educational and moving experience.
Enjoy a scenic long–tailed boat trip along Maeklong River to the world famous Bridge over the River Kwai, a part of Death Railway constructed by Allied POWs.
One of the most striking segments of the whole Death Railway line is "Extension on the River Kwai", which was worked over a stretch of a stream that was then known as a feature of the MaeKlong River. The center segment of the current Kwai River Bridge is unique in relation to the encompassing region. It has been pulverized by bombs and has been revamped. It was not the first appearance during World War II.
Visit Kanchanaburi War Cemetery which is memorial to some 6000 allied prisoners of war (POWs) who perished along the death railway line and were moved post-war to this eternal resting place. Then proceed for JEATH War Museum which is one of two war museums in Thailand about the Death Railway built from 1942 to 1943 by Allied POWs under the direction of the Japanese, a part of the famous Thai-Burma railways.

Loved everything about this tour. The death railway museum was incredible with life like depictions, memorabilia, photos and more. I found it very moving at times realising just what our soldiers went through. We moved on to a mock up of a prisoner of war camp and then boarded a long tail boat for a trip up the river Kwai to the bridge. Before walking the bridge we had a beautiful lunch at a riverside restaurant and then had some time to walk across the bridge and back. We then joined our driver and guide for the trip back to Bangkok. Both the guide and driver were excellent and the car was modern comfortable and well maintained. Really strongly recommend this tour.
Thank you so much for such a positive and pleasant write. MAM Holidays looking forward to seeing you again!
Amazing trip. Meet in hotel lobby that you pick. Our guide and driver were both excellent Ms A and kip. We noticed our tour didn't include Hellfire Pass which for us was very important to visit, with a quick call from our guide to her office Hellfire was added on, we dropped a boat trip to save time. First stop 2 hour drive, Hellfire Pass, onto a nice restaurant for lunch, then to Death Railway, no train ride as we had messed up timeliness. On to war memorial ,Cemetery and Death Railway museum then Bridge on the River Kwae. Expect a 3 + hour drive back Bangkok rush hour traffic is fun. Overall extremely happy with our private tour guide and driver.and their flexibility to work with us to acheive our perfect day out. Thank you.
