Itinerary
The Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is both a famous picturesque landmark and a significant temple complex located on the western side of the Beratan Lake in Bedugul, central Bali. The whole Bedugul area is actually a favorite cool upland weekend and holiday retreat for locals and island visitors alike from the southern and urban areas, as it is strategically located, connecting the island’s north and south.
Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan, separated by a rainforest-covered hill, approximately one kilometers, there is a pool that is connected directly to the lake Buyan through a narrow canal. The community pool is called Telaga Aya. The two lakes are known as the Twin Lakes. This sight is a great overview of the volcanic heart of Bali. Volcanoes have created and shaped this island, creating volcanic cones and lakes, and producing rich soils enabling a lush forest to grow.
Banyumala Waterfall is one of the lesser known waterfalls in Bali. It is located north of Lake Buyan in northcentral Bali. Unlike many trails this is a completely natural trail and rarely hiked trail. Just past the waterfall is a water curtain of various trickles of water down a wall of lush rocks.
Jatiluwih rice terraces pretty much cover the region of the namesake upland village in West Bali, most famous for its landscapes that are both dramatic and truly exotic. The site is one of the island’s must-see natural panoramas on par with Mount Batur and the caldera of Kintamani. The cool highlands and the breathtaking scenery of this village at the foot of Mount Batukaru makes for wonderful photo opportunities, and serves as a soothing retreat away from the island’s crowded south.
Taman Ayun Temple is a landmark in the village of Mengwi, Badung regency, located 17km northwest of Denpasar. This temple complex boasts magnificent traditional architectural features throughout its courtyards and enclosures as well as expansive garden landscapes comprised of lotus and fish ponds.

We had a wonderful day with a driver and a friendly and truly exceptional French-speaking guide. It was great! I highly recommend them.
The main reason I did this trip was to see the Jatiluwih rice terraces, but it ended up being so much more than that. Putu was my guide and her father Made was the driver, and we had a full day of activity that included a couple of beautiful waterfalls (Banyumala) as well as a temple surrounded by a beautiful moat (Taman Ayun Temple). The surprise was visiting a temple by a lake that I had seen on postcards and tourist advertisements (Ulun Danu Bratan), and we happened to get there at the time of a village festival procession culminating with a "walking gamelan" performance and some dances. Both father and daughter were conscientious and professional, and both were fluent in English. I had a great day with them. (Oh, the rice terraces were beautiful.)
Putu and Made were lovely! They were very informative and took good care of us with excellent suggestions.
The Jatiluwih rice terraces are one the most famous attractions in Bali. Area spread over 600 hectares in Bali’s central heartlands. These majestic fields seem endless to the horizon, capped by views of Mount Batukau and Mount Batur in the distance.
Ketut and Dewa are incredible guides, super attentionate and willing to share their knowledge about balinese history and culture
Discovering Bali with Dewa was a fantastic experience. He is funny, extremely kind and also happy to share all different aspects of the balinese culture. He is very knowledgeable, engaging and also flexible to adapt to the customers demands. We absolutely recommend Dewa to anyone wants to explore Bali!
Great way to see some of the beautiful sites of Central Bali....Highly recommended and especially so, thanks to our driver Mr. Ketut Mudita. Ketut is very knowledgable and passionalte about Bali and its heritage and was a wonderful guide. Make sure you ask for him!
We can’t say enough great things about Dewa! He was our driver and guide for 10 days in Bali in early December 2024, after coming highly recommended from a friend who used his services on a previous trip. From the moment he picked us up at the airport after our long journey from Kansas City, we knew we were in great hands. His warm welcome and seamless transportation were a huge relief after a full day of travel. Dewa wasn’t just a driver—he was a true guide, sharing insights about Bali’s culture, history, and traditions while making sure we got the most out of our itinerary. He took us everywhere we wanted to go, from the Sacred Monkey Forest to hands-on experiences like a silver-smithing class. He made it easy to explore Bali’s highlights, including the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Bali Botanic Garden, and the Setia Darma House of Mask and Puppets. He also ensured our transitions between destinations were smooth, including ferry transport to Nusa Penida. Whether we were catching a performance at Ubud Palace, photographing butterflies, or just relaxing, he made every experience stress-free and enjoyable. Dewa’s kindness, professionalism, and knowledge made our Bali trip unforgettable. If you’re looking for a reliable, friendly, and skilled driver-guide that you can trust for an excellent price, we highly recommend hiring him. Thank you, Dewa, for an amazing adventure—we can’t wait to return!
Thank you very much for your review and l am happy to hear you have great holidays in Bali, l promise to do my best for every one, and to be honest l need more work in the future, thank you very much again
I highly recommend booking Dewa as your driver and tour guide when visiting Bali! He is a safe driver, speaks great English, and was kind enough to answer my millions of questions about the culture and history of Bali :) A friend and I hired Dewa to go see the UNESCO rice terraces where he guided us through the fields which were absolutely beautiful. Dewa also had plenty of suggestions for other sites to see to fill our day. My friend flew home before me, so I hired Dewa for an additional day to visit a temple, do a waterfall hike, and a bit of shopping in different villages. As a solo female, I felt completely comfortable and safe with Dewa. I will definitely book with Dewa again when I’m in Bali!
Dewa really made our trip special. Not just a great driver, but his love of Bali is clear with his knowledge and detail at every stop. Cannot recommend enough
