Olof knew a great deal about the Viking period in Sweden and drove us to several sites that had original rune stones teaching us about runes and the stone monuments He took us to the first capital of Sweden Sigtuna where there has been a lot of excavations revealing Viking life.
Happy to hear about your tour and that both Olof as well as the places with runic ztones and grave fields did give satisfaction. Welcome back again to Sweden History Tours.
Verywonderful. An immersive exploration of the Viking world and the runes they left behind to to speak of their often-neglected human side.
Thanks for taking your time to write this, it is very appriciated. Happy to read thst you like all our stories and fact about the Viking as well as their society and visiting the remains left from that time period.
If you're looking for a tour company in Sweden, this is the company to go with. Had private tours across two days and covered so much ground. Both Calle and Olaf were amazing guides that were very knowledgeable about their country and clearly loved walking us through the history. Definitely check out Sigtuna, Old Town and an archipelago tour - we did a trip to Vaxholm which was amazing. We weren't sure which tours to book at first, so we reached out and they helped develop the perfect schedule to fit our needs and wants. We were in Stockholm for three nights and felt we covered so much ground, left feeling very happy and wanting to return. Thank you!!!
So happy we managed to do a custom itinerary with a customized tour trip with Sweden History Tours that brough such joy to your Sweden trip. Thanks a lot for leaving this review here and to let us know this way that we did a good job, both the behind the tours admin staff and the two diffirent guides you got on your stay. You are more than welcome bck again :-) /Owe
Jakob was very knowledgeable and passionate about the Viking Era (8th-11th centuries). He was able to bring to life the Viking ruins that are left—rune stones and a church. And he didn’t mind being peppered with questions. This not Rome or Athens grade ruins but if you’re truly curious about the time, you’ll enjoy the tour. Pick up (cruise port) and drop off (airport) were convenient.
Happy to hear you did enjoy your tour and that the custom drop off and pick up worked well. Also good thst you got a knowledgeble tour guide and liked the stops the tour made. Welcome on a Sweden History Tours tour again in the future.
We were so lucky to have Gustav as a tour guide! His extensive knowledge of Swedish history brought our tour to life. I highly recommend this tour! If you have time, consider the 9 hour tour. There is so much to see and learn!
Happy to read that you enjoyed bith the locations we have carefully selected, our tour guide Gustav the tour in general. Welcome back in the future. Best regards Owe
If you love history, this is a tour for you. We learned so much about ancient runes and Viking era history. We don’t usually do private tours, but it was wonderful getting all of our questions answered. Enjoyed our time in Sigtuna and visiting the old church there. Interesting hearing about the blending of religions. Erik was an excellent guide.
Thanks a lot for taking your time to write this. Happy to hear Erik did a good job, will send this to him, and happy to read that you really enjoyed the places you visited on the tour and the info Erik gave. Best Regards Jonathan, Sweden History Tours
I believe this was a great tour with a not so great mix of circumstances. Our guide was nice, shared a lot of information and gave us a great day exploring some of Sweden’s Viking past. Unfortunately both of us have some slight hearing difficulties and that, coupled with his strong accent made it very challenging to understand much of what he shared. I did ask him to repeat a few times and he did immediately but I really didn’t want to do that all day long. We still had a fascinating day and learned a lot, but we did not get the full story as many details were simply lost.
Hi, so so sorry to hear about your hearing difficulties who together with the Swedish accent make an issue to understand what the guide is saying. Totally understand that it did became a disapointment as you didnt get the full picture, if I had known i might have been able to stear what guide you got as I have one who lived in USA and don't have an accent. Good that you did enjoy the tour places but so sorry to hear about the accent issue. Also thanks for taking the time to leave this review. /Owe, Sweden History Tours
The history of the rune stones and the viking people. Gabriel was fantastic very informative about the history of the area and the people.
We had an excellent tour with Emma. She gave us much insight into Viking life and ruins. We also enjoyed her story telling ability. Definitely recommend.
Great stories and historical information about the Vikings and their lifestyle. We saw many ruins and got a good sense of their meaning.
