Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a small rain forest dwelt by some group of monkeys and other tropical animals. Its strategically located in the hearth of Ubud Village. Monkey Forests in Balinese language called Wanara Wana are spread out in the island and Ubud Monkey Forest itself own very important function of the continuity the monkey habitat in Bali. Meanwhile the local community own important role to keep this forest naturally in order to all wild animals able to live smoothly.
Ubud Royal Palace or Puri Saren Ubud is one of the most prominent places in Ubud, as it is smack dab on the main Jalan Raya Ubud road and intersection. The palace can also be regarded as the focal landmark of Ubud. The Ubud palace was built during the lordship of the late Ida Tjokorda Putu Kandel (1800-1823) and is well kept by his successive heirs. A visit to the Puri Saren is on many of the itineraries to the Ubud area.
Tegalalang Rice Terrace which according to history, was passed down by a revered holy man named Rsi Markandeya in the eighth century. Tegalalang forms the three most splendid terraced landscapes in Ubud shared region, with the others being in the villages of Pejeng and Campuhan. Tegalalang Rice Terrace alone has an outlook that spreads down before you and away to the rice terraces on the slopes across the valley. The high roadside location is cool and breezy and it is a well known spot for tourists to stop and take photos.
Tegenungan Waterfall is one of the most popular Bali Places of Interest and the beauty of the waterfall does not only become an attraction for domestic or foreign tourists, local people also often visit this waterfall. Its a part of the Petanu river flowing along the village of Kemenuh, it reaches to the height of up to 20m so you can feel the sound vibration of the falling water.

We booked the half day Ubud tour and had Gita as our tour guide. He was excellent! He was on time, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He took us to all of the places we wanted to see in Ubud and provided us information about each place. We were able to explore each location at our own pace and he provided us numerous recommendations of other popular places to check out in Ubud. He also took us to a local lunch spot which was delicious. Overall my husband and I had a great time and we would highly recommend Gita to anyone looking to explore Bali.

A wonderful day out to Bud, to take in waterfall, monkey forest, coffee tasting and rice terraces. Our wonderful driver Yuda took great care of us in a beautifully air conditioned car (yes the traffic is challenging). Thank you. Would highly recommend.

The tour was cut short due to Nyoman not managing our time well and letting us know 30 minutes beforehand we had no time left to go to the waterfall. Yes the traffic to Ubud was terrible but worse was Nyoman’s lack of communication in moving things along so that we could make it to al the attractions. My suggestion is to either only allow the latest booking for 10am or get the driver to speak to their passengers & update them on timing requirements. Not good enough I am afraid.

A great day tour visiting the waterfalls, rice fields, Ubud Palace and Monkey Sanctuary, with the added bonus of a tea and coffee tasting along the way. A real bonus was the insight along the journey of the extraordinary creativity and productivity of the Balinese people with endless wholesale stores with beautiful furniture and homewares and an extraordinary number of carved wooden ducks for tourists and exports. Gita has been an amazing guide, he is very knowledgeable, takes his job very seriously and with a great sense of humour. His knowledge of Ubud and the surrounding area is fantastic. We learnt so much about the Balinese culture that you would never get from a book. He went above and beyond and Gita made sure the day was exactly what we wanted.
