Description
Together we will embark on a journey going back in time to discover the fascinating history of one of the greatest Medieval cities in Italy. We will follow the routes walked by ancient pilgrims, admire architectural jewels, such as the wonderful Duomo and the stunning shell-shaped Campo Square, we will visit St Dominic's Church talking about one of the greatest and most incredible women of Medieval Europe, St Catherine from Siena, and we will also get lost in a maze of hidden spots and lovely corners off the beaten track. Last but not least, we will unlock the secrets of Siena's most ancient tradition, the Palio horse race, and of its so-called Contradas (districts), which are the 17 beaten hearts of this proud, strong, and still very authentic beautiful city. IMPORTANT: the tour schedule in the system is 10am and 15pm, but the tour times can be arranged directly with the guide upon request.

The Classic Walking Tour of Siena lasts 2 hours and includes both the highlights of the city, such as St Dominic's Church, Salimbeni and Tolomei Squares, the Duomo and the wonderful Campo Square, and also some hidden corners off the beaten track.

We did a walking tour of Siena with a large group for my sister’s wedding. Chiara was not only very knowledgeable but very personable as well. She was patient with a larger group and even helped us find a restaurant to eat at. Her English was easy to understand as well!

Chiara was our very knowledgeable and personable guide in Sienna. Before the tour she provided us with parking directions very close to our meeting place which was so helpful. Chiara easily guided us away from the more crowded streets to more accessible side streets during the tour. Her knowledge of each of the contrade districts was impressive as was her detailed accounts of the history of the people, art, sculptures and religion. The Piazza del Compo was a highlight of the tour. She had detailed pictures of the Plaza during the Palio di Sienna and was able to provide first hand knowledge of the horse race. Chiara was our favorite guide during our trip to the hill towns of Tuscany and I would highly recommend her for any of the Sienna region tours.

Our family spent the week before Christmas in Italy and we decide to spend a day in Siena on our way to Florence. We hired Chiara to show us around the city and to share with us it's unique history. She was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend her if you are ever lucky enough to visit this city! We did a walking tour of San Gimignano and Siena. Chiara was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable of the two cities. We had a group of 6 and she helped us find a driver to take us from Montepulciano, where we were staying, to the two cities. We learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed Chiara’s company.
