Your local friendly guide and the driver will pick up at your Guangzhou hotel depends on the departure option you book. First visit the Chen Clan Temple /Ancestral Hall(Closed on every Tuesdays) one of the most magnificent Qing-Dynasty architectures features with elaborate wood, brick, stone, clay, ivory carvings, as well as some of the most previous and rare collections of Silk embroidery, ceramics, painting etc. A great window to learn about Lingnan culture, history and custom.
Next head to Yuexiu Park, the largest park in Guangzhou with its lush greens and historic relics, take a leisure walk in the park and visit Five Ram Stone Statue (Symbol of Guangzhou), Ancient Ming-Dynasty city wall, Sun-Yat Sun Monument. Appreciate the splendid park in southern China and see locals go about their life.
Follow your guide to the new Guangzhou area at Huacheng, admire fantastic 21st century skyscrapers such as “Canton Tower”, IFC buildings, Guangzhou Opera, Guangdong museum. Depends on the weather you may choose to go up to the observation deck at Canton Tower to have a fantastic bird-eye of the whole city. ( Tower entry ticket at your own costs).
Officially known as the Western Han Museum of the Nanyue King, a must-visit site to learn its fascinating ancient history rooted in Guangzhou. The museum houses the 2,000-year-old tomb of the Nanyue King Zhao Mo (Ruled from 137BC to 122 BC) in Guangzhou, it showcases the tomb and its complete trove of artifacts, gain a great history and culture with your guide.
If time permits, continue the tour to Shamian Island, known as the former British and French concession ,the prosperous foreign trading center in history, with colonial style mansions & architecture well restored, one of the most fashionable areas along the Pear River . Our guide Josephine was excellent, she fully explained everywhere we went to complete with the history and culture of the place. Also pointed out were other places of interest which we used for the remainder of our trip. There was only the two of us on the tour so we were very much looked after. Good amount of time at each stop, enough to be given an explanation as well as take photos. Language was good translation and explained everything in perfectEnglish. Overall a fantastic experience that I would recommend.
We had an amazing customised day tour in Guangzhou thanks to a wonderful guide who tailored the itinerary exactly to what we wanted. From exploring the beautiful Chen Clan Ancestral Hall and the charming Lychee Bay, to enjoying some of the yummiest dim sum at Tao Tao Ju, every stop was memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the contrast of old and new Guangzhou with its modern skyline, pedestrian bridges and iconic Canton Tower, before finishing at a bustling wholesale clothing market. It was a perfect day of culture, food, and city highlights!
We had a great time between my mom (79 year old) and my young kids (aged 8 to 10) on this tour. Linda was our guide and she was very flexible and knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the places we visited. She worked with us on modifying the itinerary the morning of our tour as my mom wanted a mix of shopping with the cultural and modern highlights. She also helped us research things that made our stay in Guangzhou easier (like where we could get our laundry done more cheaply). We were super happy with our tour.

This is a long overdue review. We travelled to Guangzhou in Nov. 2025 and booked our tour thru Sunny Tours. We cannot say enough about our tour guide Sunny. She is so accommodating and really great in giving us like background/history of places that we visited. She met us at the train station and made sure we were all taken care of before leaving the station in Guangzhou. The high speed rail station can be a little overwhelming for first time travellers and especially if you do not read or speak Chinese. Sunny stayed with us until all got into the waiting area before leaving. We all had an amazing time in Guangzhou. Thank you to Sunny and Sunny Tours. Highly recommend them if you are looking to tour in Guangzhou.

Wenmay did an amazing job arranging a photography session in traditional Chinese outfits — exactly as we requested! The location, costumes, make up and photos were all perfectly coordinated, making it such a memorable experience. The photos turned out wonderful! She also accommodated all our last minute requests and brought us to a local food fest in Guangzhou, where we got to taste a wide variety of authentic dishes. She was thoughtful, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly. We truly enjoyed the day — highly recommended for a personalised and enjoyable experience!
