The Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse is incredible. It is a clean, modern, efficient enterprise that showcases the highest quality foods. And even better, we had Clarie as our food guide and she was extremely well organized and presents her material seamlessly. She is warm, witty, clever, and has so much knowledge. We loved how she was able to teach us so fascinating things while keeping things light and playful. It is one of the best food tours we have had, and we have had many. We highly recommend Claire and a visit to this incredible food market.
You will taste a wide variety of foods at Les Halles - come hungry! The tour was very accessible for all ages (we were 2 adults and a tween) and we especially loved the Lyon saucissons! Claire was a wonderful tour guide and explained the local history behind the development of certain food traditions, without ever being dry or boring. Highly recommend! The only note I would give is that it is a lot of standing so your feet may get tired and travelers with reduced mobility should take note.
Wonderful and enjoyable tasting tour through the food hall! Our guide Claire was fun and informative. All 5 of our group loved it and highly recommend!!
Hi Colleen, We are glade to know that your loved your moment spend in our company. Hope to see you back soon for more discoveries !
A great way to learn all about the cuisine of Lyon and its history. Tasting all sorts of the local specialties was great.
The first thing the guide was charming and spoke perfect Spanish , he told us the history of the market and showed us the whole market , he gave us several products , the only thing we did not love was the tasting that was very scarce , 3 slices of cold meats , a bread with sausage, by the way delicious, but only 1 bread to share... some cheeses 4 squares and 1 glass of wine. We would have liked to taste more things for the price we paid for the tour.
Good quality of products May Help service management Waiting 30 mm to comander more than 20 minutes between the dishes of each guest
A brilliant tour, complete with private tastings throughout and a brilliant guide. Walked through the aisles, tasted treats galore, heard numerous insightful stories and pieces of information which made for a terrific time.
Claire was an extraordinary, passionate and knowledgeable guide. The tour was fabulous, we learned so much about the Lyonnais food, the various certifications and quality awards, the history of food and Lyon and the history of chefs and various regional products. This is a Must Do tour, and we’ll be recommending to our friends!
Claire was fantastic! Yes, the experience is pricey, but I found myself wanting more time, not less. Worth it!
Our guide - Claire - was exceptionally good. Very charming, knowledgeable and well organized - just perfect !
