Itinerary

Pass by

A comfortable one-hour drive will take you to Pisa. As soon as you arrive, you will pass by the historic suburbs and encounter Piazza dei Cavalieri, the original political center of medieval Pisa. It was later transformed by Cosimo I de’ Medici into the center for the Order of the Knights of Santo Stefano, created to defend the Mediterranean coasts from Turkish and pirate fleets. At the heart of the square you will find the statue of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, made in 1596. Behind it stand Palazzo della Carovana and Palazzo degli Anziani del Popolo, which was transformed by Giorgio Vasari. Piazza dei Cavalieri is the location of the Scuola Normale Superiore, commissioned by Napoleon based on the model of the Parisian Ercole. The greatest Italian professors, such as Pacinotti, Carducci, Pascoli, Fermi and Rubbia, have all studied and taught here. You will then arrive at the breathtaking Leaning Tower of Pisa, the unmistakable tilting tower that has people marvel from all over the world!

60 min

Pisa and its Piazza dei Miracoli have always been a fundamental part of a trip to Tuscany, and despite the presence of the many tourists, the place radiates a timeless, evocative and powerful beauty. Visitors from every corner of the world typically try to keep the leaning tower upright, with a little help from their camera’s perspective, to make for amusing photos!

120 min

The beautiful stronghold of San Gimignano is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Tuscany. San Gimignano is a treasure of medieval architecture, frozen in time in the year 1300. Above all, it is famous for its ancient towers, which still stand out from its skyline, earning it the nickname Manhattan of the Middle Ages. Don't forget to stop by the famous Dondoli ice cream shop, winner of many awards for the best ice cream in the world.

Pass by

Piazza della Cisterna dates back to 1287. It is located exactly in the center of the city, at a crossroads between the two main streets of the upper medieval village. While the city’s Piazza del Duomo served both as a religious and political center, Piazza della Cisterna was instead used as a local market and as a stage for social gatherings, parties and tournaments.

Pass by

The Duomo of San Gimignano is also known as La Collegiata. Visiting this beautiful cathedral is a must! Because it has never been restored, you will be able to marvel at the original colors used in the unique frescoes, which remain vivid, bright and truly splendid. La Collegiata has also been used as a set to film a few scenes of Franco Zeffirelli’s Tea with Mussolini (1999).

180 min

Siena is one of the most popular and visited places in Tuscany. It is known throughout Italy for its distinguished medieval architecture. Upon arrival, explore its rich history and art, through its notable local monuments such as the famous seashell-shaped Piazza del Campo and the outstanding Siena Cathedral. Many local shops fill the historic streets of Siena, a great opportunity for you to taste local food or buy some gifts

Pass by

TThe Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta is the main location of Catholic worship in Tuscany, and the diocese of Siena. The building is located in the square of the same name in the center of the city. Built in Italian Gothic style, it is one of the most significant and spectacular churches built in Italy.

Pass by

Piazza del Campo (or simply, il Campo) is the main square of the city of Siena. Unique for its particular and original seashell shape, it is renowned all over the world for its beauty and architectural integrity, as well as for being the place where the Palio di Siena takes place twice a year.

Fantastic Private Tour with Alessandro!

We took a private ride with Alessandro, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! He was incredibly informative and made the trip feel personal and relaxed. Alessandro customized our route perfectly — even went out of his way and contacted a winery to add to our route! It was a beautiful winery where we had a fantastic time. At each stop, he gave us great local tips on where to go and what to see, so we could make the most of our visit. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide — it truly made our day special! Highly recommend Alessandro for anyone looking for a personalized, enjoyable, and authentic experience.

Amazing day tour with a wonderful guide

Alessandro was absolutely great. We started our day at 9.30am, my husband and I being picked up directly from the front door or our Airbnb. Fitting in three cities in a one day tour means a lot of driving, and what could have been quite dull was anything but that because Alessandro is a font of information and facts about the region, and I’ve now got a huge number of pins on my map app for a future visit. He’s also a great conversationalist generally and we covered language, travel and politics amongst other topics throughout the day. At each stop on the tour, Alessandro dropped us off and made solid recommendations about how long we would need, where we could eat and what we should do and it all worked out perfectly at each stop, it felt like we had just the right amount of time to do what we should whilst not being in a rush. At the end of the day, arriving back in Florence, we stopped off for an additional sunset viewpoint which just ended the day on a really lovely note. We would absolutely recommend this tour and hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.

Perfect tour

We had an amazing time with Alessandro as our tour guide. He is very kind, patient and knowledgeable about wine and the area. We went to Pisa, La Marronaia Winery, San Gimignano, Castello di Montefioralle, Greve, and Piazzale Michelangelo. We would not hesitate to book with him again.

A great day in Tuscany

The four of us had a wonderful day on a private tour exploring Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena with Alessandro. His knowledge of Firenze and the Tuscany area, especially in relation to food and wine, was much appreciated. He was flexible and helpful to make sure the tour suited what we wanted. Highly recommend.
