On this day trip, you will see all the beautiful scenery in Lijiang, it is a leisure day tour. You will visit Black Dragon Pool, Dongba Culture Museum, then followed with Lijiang Old Town, continue to visit Mu Palace and Lion Hill which are also located in Lijiang Old Town. It is a good chance to learn Naxi script and culture.

In the morning, your tour guide will meet you at hotel. Pay a visit to Lijiang old Town which is officially called “Dayan Town”, “Dayan” literally means a “great ink stab”, a graphic description of the town’s location on a piece of rich flatland fed by a river and surrounded by green mountains. It is a well-preserved Naxi ancient town, listed as UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. It is one of the four best-preserved ancient cities in China.
Later, follow a trip to Ming-dynasty style Mufu Palace, the “Forbidden City” of Lijiang to know Tusi’s ruling history and appreciate Naxi people’s brilliant culture and fine arts.
Later, you will visit Donaba family and learn Dongba script which used by the Naxi is considered the last living pictographic script in the world. Then, drive to Yuhu Village which is located at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. When walking into this authentic Naxi Village, you’ll see unique stone houses, Naxi ladies dressing in traditional clothes, kids playing, a tranquil Yuhu Lake…Explore leisurely around the village and then get to the Former Residence of Joseph Rock, who was an Austrian-American Botanist came to Lijiang and stayed in Yuhu Village for 27 years and made huge research work on Naxi minority. Walk around Black dragon pond park to experience local people's life and learn Naxi culture at Dongba museum.

Three of us visited Lijiang for 4 days - I have visited many places in China, I believe that Lijiang is among the most beautiful. We so enjoyed learning about the Naxi ethnic people and Dongba culture. We had an excellent guide Jack Ma of lijiang (@adamlijiang). Jack speaks very good English and he is very knowledgeable about the culture. Jack took us to the best attractions - we didn't have enough days to see it all, so he made sure that we saw the best. I recommend Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, take the cable car to Yak meadow. Incredible! Old authentic temple there too. We went to the show Impressions, also worth it, best if your weather not too hot, we were glad we had raincoats. We saw Tiger Leaping Gorge - awesome! If the stairs down are too much, you can take a sedan chair and be carried like royalty (my husband did this!) We saw several temples, museums, and spent a morning at a really beautiful park in Old Town Lijiang. Jack took us to good restaurants, had good clean comfortable transportation, always had water for us, and he had a way of getting us around many of the long lines that were inevitable due to our travel time during Golden Week. I recommend Lijiang. And Jack Ma as your guide.
<p>Very good tour and the guide, Sophie, was excellent. Museum of Naxi culture most interesting. Views from the top of the Old town wonderful and you must experiment for lunch! Fair walk and need to remember the elevation so pace yourself. Thoroughly recommend this tour.</p>
