Private Day Trip to Sigiriya , Dambulla and Pidurangala Rock

Description
Pidurangala is a massive rock formation located a few kilometers north of Sigiriya in Sri Lanka. It has an interesting history closely related to that of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Climbing to the top of Pidurangala Rock is more strenuous than climbing Sigiriya. If you are fit and adventurous it is a climb worth making. It will take you about two hours. There is far less to see on this site than Sigiriya

Truly amazing and no wonder about their service . Sigiriya hike was great and we hired a guide for 20 $ which was worth to get more information sigiriya. It waslong journey and 3 activities. Best to go with wasa for all 3 activities .
I joined the Private Day Trip to Sigiriya Dambulla and Pidurangala Rock as a solo traveler expecting a normal tour But the day turned into something much deeper and unexpectedly personal The journey started early and the calm morning drive itself felt like a reset When I reached Sigiriya the giant rock rose ahead like a silent guardian Climbing slowly I felt the place’s history around me and the view from the top made me pause in a way I didn’t expect It was not just sightseeing it was a moment of quiet awe Next Dambulla Cave Temple offered a completely different energy Inside the caves the air was cool and still and the ancient statues felt like they were watching over everything I spent time just standing there letting the silence sink in and it felt like a peaceful conversation with history Finally Pidurangala Rock was the highlight for me The climb was peaceful and at the top I watched the sunset over Sigiriya That view simple wide and golden felt like the perfect ending to the day As a solo traveler I didn’t feel alone This trip felt like a personal journey where every place gave a new feeling and every moment brought calm Iwas a complete day of discovery, peace and unforgettable beauty.
Great and wonderful journey. Sigiriya is amazing and I really love that place. Great view from the top. My guide was excellent and got many information. Really enjoyed and safe driving at all. Highly recommend!
Sigiriya is absolutely one of the great sights in the world, containing the ruins of a 5th century CE castle on a massive monolith, and surrounding gardens. Two levels of challenge- at the very top are the ruins of the palace, but for those of us who are a little less agile and energetic, half way up are 18 original fresco paintings. To make any of this possible or meaningful, get a guide in addition to the entrance fee - $US20 + a tip (minimum 5000 rupiah I think (but I find the tipping culture very confusing ) Before that we went to Dambulla Temple, an amazing Buddhist temple or series of chapels built into the rock, decorated with Buddhist statues and ceiling paintings. As well as the ticket you have to pay for someone to mind your shoes and then you walk bare footed on the one-hot rocks. There were monkeys! The tour is private and the driver is an escort rather than a guide so you need to get most of your information elsewhere. Driving is according to the cultural norm, fast, smooth, lots of overtaking and hand-held phone conversations. My driver Vilan was courteous, helpful, warm, and observant so that he didn't push me into places I wasn't interested in (much appreciated!) but helped me get the best day I could have.
One of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka, this ancient palace and fortress complex has significant archaeological importance.Rock plateau formed from magma of an extinct volcano, 200 m high, 1200 steps to the top, since 3th century BC served as a monastery. Once you climbed the top, you enjoy a magnificent view of the surroundings.
Our guide Solitha was honestly amazing. The sites were excellent and his hospitality first class. He invited us to his house afterwards. Best day of our time in sri lanka
