Wonderful daytrip to Tangier

Our Moroccan guide,Ismail was wonderful, friendly and interesting,he told us of life in Tangier, both historical and modern. He has excellent english and was fascinating to talk to. The typical itinerary of museums and tombs was less of interest to our small group than visiting the medina and souk,so Ismail asked our interests and tailored the day to our interests, great. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast of Moroccan pancakes at a spectacular seaside restaurant at Cape Spartel. Following a coastal drive we enjoyed a beach camel ride,a bit of fun but the best part was seeing the azure blue of the Atlantic ocean. We live in Australia near the sea but this would be the most beautiful ocean scape I have ever seen. Our itinerary was adjusted with a drive past the Royal Tangier Golf club which made my husband very happy. In the the Medina,Ismail took us up and down allyways and into interesting shops. Moroccan artisinal weavers making intricately patterned fabrics. We purchased a soft small blanket. We also enjoyed the leather and traditional jewelery shops.Ismail told us many interesting stories about this area including all the movies filmed here(James Bond). Finally late lunch at a restaurant in the souk.We were able to choose from traditional dishes like couscous with chicken and moroccan vegetables,a bubbling tajine and pastilla(a dish of chicken, almonds and spices usually eaten at festive occassions). All delicious and well prepared. Amrantours organised and communicated well before the tour. Our driver from Seville, Rafael, was great, also organised our ferry tickets and advising us on passport control requirements. He waited in Tarifa and was there to drive us back when we came out if the ferry terminal. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour.

Fun filled trip to Tangier from Sevilla

Highlight of the tour was the camel ride on the beach! The camel ride was along the sandy beach and camels took us back up a moderately steep slope. Visiting the casbah was also interesting as well as driving thru the mega mansion area of Tangier. Our guide Mohammed was very knowledgeable and our driver Rafa was helpful.

We had an amazing trip to...

We had an amazing trip to Tangier. Our driver was the nicest and even brought drinks for us. Our tour guide was phenomenal. It was a fast paced day and we fit in a lot - riding camels, tasting delicious foods and touring the Kasbah. We enjoyed it so much we are planning a dedicated trip to Morocco.

A day well spent!

My wife and I enjoyed our day long trip from Sevilla to Tangier. There was a bit of a mix up during our morning pick up. Our hotel was on a narrow street that accessible to vehicles. It was possible to pick us up a short distance away (as other drivers had done for other activities) but our driver asked us to walk a few blocks. We blundered around in the dark and drizzle for a bit before we found him. Not a major problem but worth noting. Our driver went into the ferry office in Terife and retrieved our ferry tickets. On arrival, locating our tour guide was easy. He was waiting as we exited the terminal and was able to pick us out from the crowd (note: tour guides available for hire were inside the building and at least two stopped us asking us if we wanted to hire them). Abu led us to his car and drove us to the lighthouse at the point where the Atlantic and Mediterranean met. We then went to a local restaurant for local snacks. Next was the camel rides on the beach. We were both a bit hesitant as this activity seemed just the ultimate tourist silliness but we both ended up enjoying it. So...doubts aside, it was fun! We then drove back to Tangier and Abu led us on a walking tour through the Casbah and Medina. His knowledge of Tangier was quite impressive. Last was a meal at an excellent Moroccan restaurant. While there, it began to rain hard and Abu went back to his car to retrieve our raincoats and umbrellas. We boarded a 9 PM ferry back to Terife and our driver was waiting for us at the terminal for the long drive back to Sevilla. A long day but well worth it.
