Itinerary

15 min

Amboise owes its reputation to its royal castle, the vast 15th-century residence of Charles VIII, which houses the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci, royal apartments, gardens and underground corridors. Just outside the town, the Château du Clos Lucé is the former residence of Leonardo da Vinci, where he lived until his death in 1519.

15 min

Chenonceau Castle is a remarkable example of late Gothic and early Renaissance architecture. Its unique design with its arches spanning the Cher River makes it a visually impressive site. It is often called the "Château des Dames" because of the important role played by women in its history, particularly Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici.

15 min

Also known as Château de Montfort, Château de Montrichard is a medieval castle located on the banks of the Cher. It offers panoramic views of the city and the river.

15 min

The Château de Cheverny is one of the pearls of the Loire Valley. It is renowned for its splendid classical 17th-century architecture, period furniture and well-kept gardens. The castle has still been inhabited by the same family for more than six centuries. It is associated with Tintin, the famous comic book character. A permanent exhibition presents objects and decorations linked to Tintin.

120 min

The Château de Chambord is one of the architectural marvels of the Renaissance. Built in the 16th century during the reign of François I, it is distinguished by its exceptional architecture, marked by towers, fireplaces, and a remarkable double revolution staircase.

15 min

The Royal Castle of Blois is an emblematic monument of the city. It offers a unique illustration of French architecture through the centuries, with parts built in the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the 17th and the 18th centuries.

15 min

The Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire is one of the city's main attractions. Built in the 15th century, the castle offers panoramic views of the Loire Valley.

Bait and switch

We booked the tour because it sounded like a lot of fun in a sidecar with the opportunity to see some chateaux and visit Chambord. The sidecar ride was great but without telling us the tour owner decided to change the itinerary and take us to Tours and for a wine tasting instead. When we asked when we were going to see the chateaux he told us that our tour was done and he had decided that we would enjoy Tours more. I told him that he should have given us a choice since we paid for a visit to the chateaux and now we would be leaving without seeing them. He continued to say that what we saw was better. That was not his decision to make. If you sign up for this tour make sure you are going to get what you paid for. This was pure and simply a bait and switch. The sidecar ride was great and the second driver Francisois was great. Fred, the owner was unapologetic and didn’t care at all that he did not provide the tour that we paid for.

Operator response

All our excursions are tailor-made. We strive to provide the best possible experiences for our passengers by adapting to their age, schedule, and weather conditions. We sincerely apologize if you were disappointed not to visit a château, but we felt a cellar tour would be more appropriate. We wish you many more wonderful adventures like this one. Best regards.
