The drive to the pyramids from the port was long, but our driver made it interesting and stopped when it was necessary. He was pleasant and mindful of our needs.
Amr, our guide, was very accomodating and patient. He had amazing knowledge of the history of the Ancient Egyptians, took us to amazing shops for authentic Egyptian treasures and made sure we were dealt with fairly.
It was awesome. We had an amazing guide by the name of Heba and our driver Hassan Mohamed was fantastic. We got picked up at the cruise ship terminal in Alexandria at the designated meeting point. Two hour drive to Cairo on a new highway. Hassan stopped for a comfort stop at Circle K on the way. We arrived safely in Cairo where we picked up our fantastic guide, Heba. She was so incredibly knowledgeable and we learned so much about the pyramids and ancient Egypt. Heba also enlightened us on the culture and customs of present day Egypt. We enjoyed a truly fun filled day. Heba and Hassan went over and above our expectations. We felt very safe at all times. There was no hassle from vendors. Everything could not have been better. Heba and Hassan made this once in a live time experience AMAZING. Words cannot express our gratitude for taking such good care of us and showing us how wonderful your people and country are. We will return again. My advice would be don't be afraid to engage with the Egyptian people. They are very friendly. Be sure you have an amazing guide. I think this was the reason we had such a great experience. Thank you Heba and Hassan. A great team. BTW Heba and Hassan had never worked together before. They worked so well together you would have thought they knew each and had worked with each other frequently. On a scale of 1-10 this was an 11.
This was to be all day trip to the Pyramids + Cairo Museum Tour was booked to start at 6 am but Guide did not turn up. So booked a replacement tour from an Operator who was at the meeting point & thankfully had capacity. Subsequently found original tour was ticketed to start 10am. My experience is that mobile phone reception in Egypt is poor for travellers. BTW refund for retired excursion from Viator still awaited.
We enjoyed this trip very much. It was a long trip from Alexandria to the pyramids but our driver Ashraf was great and made the trip as comfortable as possible. Upon arrival at the pyramids we joined up with our guide George who was informative and entertaining. George gave us a few options for other things to do but we were happy just to the pyramids and the Cairo museum and get back to Alexandria. An excellent, easy, good value excursion.
Our guide, Mrs Dina, was very friendly and spoke english in a satisfactory manner and level. Communication was easy. One thing that kept us from giving five stars was that it was not clear why we were stopping at times. Given the total traffic chaos of the country, we felt a little bit uneasy and we would rather always be told why, how, when we stopped each time. Another thing is that we were not taken to see the mummies of the museum, which we were extremely disappointed about. On the other hand, Mrs Dina was very friendly, kind, and insightful and allowed for a flexible programme, when we asked for a Nile ride.
We thoroughly enjoyed our shore excursion to Giza. Our assigned Egyptology expert Mr. Walid proved to be an excellent guide and provided us with a fantastic tour, greatly enriching our visit to the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum with his knowledge. Our friendly driver took good care of us, picked us up at Alexandria port and returned us back on time in a clean and comfortable car. We highly recommend Ancient Egypt Tours and would use them again.
We opted for a private shore excursion with Ancient Egypt Tours from the port of Alexandria to Giza and were very pleased with the experience. Our assigned Egyptology expert Mr. Walid, proved to be an extremely knowledgeable guide. He gave us a fantastic tour and greatly enhanced our visit to the Pyramids of Giza an the new Grand Egyptian Museum with his knowledge. Our friendly driver took good care of us, picked us up at the port and returned us on time. The car was clean and comfortable. We highly recommend the company and would use it again.
The driver and guide were outstanding. We are so glad we chose Viator for our visit to the museum and pyramids. They went out of their way to take care of our needs. During the museum visit I experienced a fainting spell, due to lack of air in the building and my head cold.. The guide was so caring and did so well addressing the situation. God bless her! The driver drove us to the pyramids so we could take a picture and than drove us back to the ship as we requested.
