At 8:30 am, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby in Chongqing. You will start the city tour by private vehicle with your guide. Begin at the stately People's Great Hall, an architectural masterpiece set against the leafy People's Square.
Then embark on Chongqing's most thrilling urban experience, riding the mountain-climbing Light Rail Line 2 from Zengjiyan Station, holding your breath as the train dramatically plunges straight through the residential high-rise at Liziba Station, where dedicated viewing platforms offer perfect photo ops of this engineering marvel.
Head to Ciqikou Ancient Town, which is a well-known port since ancient time. There are cobbled streets wind past Ming-Qing era teahouses and workshops still making traditional porcelain. The air hangs heavy with the aroma of freshly ground chili and sizzling street snacks.
Then ascend to the clouds at the Eye of the Cloud observation deck, where Chongqing's entire urban jungle unfolds beneath your feet, with the serpentine rivers carving through the city's dramatic topography. Dive into the pulsing heart of the city at Jiefangbei CBD, where the Liberation Monument stands sentinel over luxury boutiques and neon-lit shopping arcades. Just steps away, Bayi Road Snack Street assaults the senses with its cacophony of sizzling woks and vendors hawking fiery Chongqing specialties. Hongya Cave is very popular place recent years in Chongiqng, which looks like a fairy tale, eleven tiers of glowing stilted houses clinging to the cliffs above the Jialing River.
Finally, the futuristic curves of Raffles City lead to the grand finale at Chaotianmen Square, where you can witness nature's spectacular canvas, the distinct emerald waters of the Jialing River dramatically merging with the Yangtze's muddy currents, a perfect metaphor for Chongqing's own blend of tradition and modernity. We booked transportation with Mr Orange Transport for our trip to Chongqing and Wulong. During the initial planning stage, David was very knowledgeable and helpful in assisting with our itinerary. Although he recommended a 12-hour charter on most days, we found that we did not require the full 12 hours while sightseeing within Chongqing city. We appreciated that the company kindly refunded us for one of the days when we finished our sightseeing earlier than expected. Other staff members, including Keke, Audrey, and Rita, were also attentive and helpful, checking in with us daily to ensure that everything, including our pickups, was running smoothly. Our driver, Mr. Zhang, was assigned to our group. From the moment he picked us up at the airport, we found him easy to communicate with and requested to have him for the rest of our trip. Thankfully, he was available. He was always punctual, drove carefully, and maintained a clean, spacious, and comfortable vehicle. He was also very patient, and we never felt rushed throughout our journey. This was our second time using Mr Orange Transport, and once again, we were very happy with their service. We would gladly recommend them to anyone visiting Chongqing and Wulong.

Ciqikou is a very old part of Chongqing, it is very ancient but lively. I thing it is older than Chongqing is . The are I seen was like an alleyway lined with vendors mostly selling many different Chinese foods. It should be on your list of things to tour if you get the chance. I was there in April of 2005
That is a really interesting place to visit in Chongqing.
This is a place one should visit when you are in Chongqing. It used to be better. With some refurbishment, the roads are better but many shops have disappeared. Now, many shops sell the same stuff - peanuts & sesame candies & also their special "Ma Lak" chillies. It would be good if there is a control as to the number of shops selling the same things. My friends & I always enjoy seeing how the peanuts & sesame Candies, and the special "chilly blocks" are made. These are the spices where you can do your own Hot-Pot at home. An interest place to visit to see the Art & Craft industry too!
