Private Day Tour from Luxor to Aswan High Dam and Unfinished Obelisk and Philae

Truthfully, the experience was great with Barry and Ahmed as the driver. Barry was funny and knowledgeable for sure. The tour was great throughout especially the Temple Island of Philae with the Motorboat ride (included but tip is not included for the boat master). Lunch was good for most regards (drinks not included). Otherwise, good trip from Luxor. Barry gives you two options to take the road down to Aswan, the highway that includes toll fees which would cut down by 2 hours or the local road which would be a very long trip down one way. If you choose the highway, be prepared to give 500 egy pounds (roundtrip). Also be prepared to tip extra for the guide and driver.

No use to have a guide with you, a driver is enough! My guide didn’t respect a woman’s decision, I had always to argue and insist. He made some dubious allusions to me as a woman. He was extremely annoying, I was so relieved when the trip was over. Would never book again a tour with a guide!

The tour guide Barry and drive Ahmed did a wonderful job. This was my second tour with them and they are now my go to guides for Luxor and Aswan! This is definitely a history buff’s tour, especially seeing the unfinished obelisk and Aswan high damn. The temples are equally excellent stops. This tour has a long drive, which is a great way to see more of Egypt, but makes for a long day. However, it was a nice change of scenery from Cairo and Luxor.

Amazing sites with a very knowledgeable guide but had problems with traffic police which extended our journey

Really interesting to see Egypt on the way to Aswan however the road side checks lengthened the journey considerably. Fascinating sites plus an unexpected lovely boat trip. I particularly enjoyed the Unfinished Obilisk. I felt perhaps the tour was shortened due to the delays in getting there which was no one's fault. Khaled was friendly and very knowledgeable. We were so lucky to have the excellent driver considering the obstacles encountered and length of the day (12 hrs).

Wonderful trip to Aswan from Luxor. Excellent communication throughout. Barry our tour guide was chatty, informative and made the day pass smoothly. I would highly recommend this trip.

It was an amazing trip to see all what Aswan has to offer. Guide (Harry) and driver were brilliant. I particularly Philae and understanding the inscriptions and imagery that was on show

I am a solo female traveller & have been to Luxor many times. I have had several guides in the past but Barry is by far the best guide I have ever had. The depth of his knowledge regarding Egyptology is extremely impressive. I learnt so much! You are safe in Barry's hands. He is always looking out to make sure you are ok. He is very courteous & kind & has a wicked sense of humour. One of the best days ever!

Well don't know where to start !! Driver picked us up from hotel at 7am and on journey had trouble at police check points so he back tracked and ended up on farm tracks and rough roads ! Got to another police check point and refused again so ended up back tracking almost to our start point !! So realised there was a problem with travel permit!!! Cut a long story short and after 9 1/4 hrs later we arrived in aswan !! Journey should have been half that !!met in aswan by our guide who seemed to want to rush us through the tours in the same evening but told him NO and that we would do them in the morning instead .all he kept on about was tipping etc and in the end my mate blew his top and had a go at him !!! Not a good farewell to our guide but he deserved it then we had the pleasure of a long journey back and driver was pretty good until we got back to hotel and moaned about tip we gave him and said that he saw how much cash I had in my wallet and he deserved more !! Not sure how to rate this experience but decide yourself
