Itinerary
Meet your guide at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or at HA Food Tours, 41 Luong Van Can Street (inside Craft Viet Shop). This private experience is flexible and usually covers 4–6 places. Let us know your must-see destinations in advance, and we will create the most suitable route.
Begin in the lively heart of Hanoi, where historic streets, local markets, temples, and colonial architecture come together. Depending on the route, you may visit Hoan Kiem Lake, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Dong Xuan Market, Bach Ma Temple, and the traditional merchant streets.
Visit Hanoi’s oldest Buddhist pagoda, beautifully located beside West Lake. Admire its elegant architecture, peaceful surroundings, and learn about Buddhist traditions in Vietnamese culture.
View the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum from outside and take memorable photos at Ba Dinh Square. To make the most of your time, the experience does not include entering the mausoleum, as security procedures and queues can sometimes take up to two hours.
Discover one of Hanoi’s most distinctive neighborhoods, where trains pass just steps from local homes and cafés. Relax beside the railway with Vietnamese coffee or another drink while learning about daily life along the tracks.
Step into an important chapter of Hanoi’s history at Hoa Lo Prison. Explore its preserved cells, exhibits, and personal stories from the French colonial period and later wartime years.
Stop at Hanoi’s historic Long Bien Bridge and enjoy sweeping views of the Red River, railway tracks, and riverside communities. It is also a fascinating place to observe the rhythm of everyday local life.
Return to the Old Quarter, passing a few more landmarks if time allows. The experience ends with drop-off at your hotel or another requested location nearby, where possible.

Had an amazing time with our tour guide Tom - very knowledgeable, funny, and personable. Our favorite guide on our trip through Vietnam. He gave us some flexibility on this tour to stop at places we wanted to see. He was so well informed on all the places he stopped to show us. The experience would not have been this good without him. Amazing experience.
We got a tour by Max who did an amazing job. He was super educational and provided us with lots of information which was amazing to learn. He was always happy to listen to us and answer any of our questions, and able to adapt to our needs. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend, especially our tour guide Max.
This was a brilliant introduction to Hanoi. Our guide Peter (Quan) was excellent - very knowledgable and interesting. We received a great insight into Hanoi and Vietnamese culture and history in a morning half day tour. The driver was also very helpful. Would definitely recommend this tour for a first time visitor.
Tom was an extremely friendly and funny tour guide. We had a relaxing tour that didn’t feel rushed. The level of local and historical knowledge was valuable. Highly recommended.
Our guide Tom was very informative and helpful. We had a great time and learned a lot. His driver was great
It was not so Exciting when compared to online pics. It’s not so worth as we cannot simply sit at that place without buying any liquid like coconut or coffee or beer🤣
Great tour guide ! we saw a lot in 4 hours . Very accommodating and helped us bought the coffee brands that we were looking for.
We had a lovely morning with our guide Max who showed us so many interesting sights in Hanoi including the Tran Quoc Pagoda, St Joseph’s Church and of course the train street where I enjoyed my first egg coffee! Max was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. A shout out to our driver too who was excellent. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Jamie on the half day tour and felt this really gave us an insight into Vietnamese culture. We learnt so much from him, saw places we wouldn’t have seen on our own, are delicious food, crossed busy roads without stress! He was really friendly and relaxed and this made it a very enjoyable experience.
