Private Canoe or Hike Tour on Lake Duluti

Description
You will see beautiful lake Duluti in all its glory, and learn about its history while you canoe or hike around the lake. The spot features an unbeatable view of Mount Meru and a variety of birds and reptiles. Your guide will also tell you about how lakes and mountains fit into local legend, and other Meru tribal culture and history. By participating in a Social Impact Tour through The Small Things, you are truly making an impact. The small donation that we ask for, goes 100% directly to our children, families, and programs. None goes towards administrative fees or salaries. For example, $10 can pay for art supplies for a class at the daycare. $25 can feed one of our children for two weeks. $75 can help an outreach family start a business. $200 can cover all of the living costs for a child for a month in residential care. This is a unique opportunity to help us help vulnerable children and families in Tanzania. Your donation has a REAL impact.

Outstanding experience. Reuben was a knowledgeable and personable guide. Lake Duliti was beautiful and I saw dozens of birds as well as many types of native trees and plants. I also learned about The Small Things, an admirable and fascinating social service organization. Check their website for all the trips they do to fund their important work.
Thank you so much for sharing this—your kind words truly mean a lot to us. We’re so happy you enjoyed the experience and learning about our work. We really appreciate you spreading the word, and you’re always warmly welcome back anytime!
It was a quiet, peaceful afternoon on the lake with a knowledgable guide. Lots of birds to see and beautiful scenery. Very happy they could accommodate my last minute booking.
I had a great half day with Reuben at Lake Duluti and at "The Small Things" office in Usa River region. It was a great way of combining support for local communities and tourism. The lake is very peaceful and you can enjoy a lot of wildlife, especially birds but also some big lizard (not to worry though, everything was really safe!). I suggest you have lunch there because there is the Duluti Forest Club cafe which is a pretty magic spot on the lake. Reuben hired a local guide who was also rowing for us, so there is little effort involved which was good for me after hiking Kilimanjaro. After Duluti we visited The Small Things office and its school/dormitories. It is a great organization with a very unique goal of returning kids to their families, so they see residential care as a temporary solution which i found very interesting. There is a lot more that they do so I encourage you to check on their website or - better - spend a day with Reuben who will explain very well and also engage you in their mission. Thanks a lot to The Small Things and Reuben for the great day and for helping their communities with the revenues from the tours!

I loved this tour. It was so relaxing and pretty. The walk around the lake was a lovely way to see area, then when we headed out on to the lake it was beautiful. It was so calm and relaxing, with a ton of birds and some reptiles too. I wish I was there now.
It was a pleasure having you, come back and visit again soon!
