Do not book with this company! From beginning to end this tour was frustrating, disappointing and expensive for what we experienced. Save your time and money and find another bike tour. First, we were waiting for him for 15 minutes. When he arrived he explained he had to "set things up" which meant he had to collect public city bikes for all of us because this tour company does not have their own bikes (red flag). Second, he was actually reading historical information about Zurich aloud from his phone instead of knowing the facts (red flag). Third, he took us to places that were closed but we had booked the tour based on the time this company had offered. He'll respond to this review saying he tried to change the time the night before (which he did). Who tries to change a pre-paid tour the night before? It was impossible for us to modify our schedule with that short of notice (red flag). Very unprofessional. Fourth, he told us the tour covered the cost of visiting the Chinese Garden in Zurich which is actually free to all visitors (red flag). We felt scammed. Please trust the negative reviews on Tripadvisor and on Viator. You'll be happy you did.

Regarding the bicycles, our Zurich Bike Tour is clearly operated using public city bikes. This is not something we hide from our guests, and it is not a “red flag.” Using public bikes allows our guests to enjoy an authentic and convenient way of exploring Zurich by bicycle. Regarding the historical information, our guide uses his phone as a reference when necessary to ensure that the information provided is accurate. This does not mean that the guide does not know Zurich or its history, and we believe it is much better to verify details than to provide incorrect information. We also contacted you in advance regarding the tour schedule because certain locations had limited opening hours at the originally booked time. Our intention was to provide you with the best possible experience and avoid taking you to places when they were closed. We understand that changing plans may not always be convenient, but we made the effort to inform you and offer an alternative. Regarding the Chinese Garden, we would like to clarify that we never claimed that guests had to pay an entrance fee or that we were charging for admission. The Chinese Garden was simply included as one of the stops on the sightseeing itinerary. Therefore, the statement that you were “scammed” is completely unfounded and unfair. We fully respect every guest’s right to share their experience, whether positive or negative. However, we also believe that reviews should be based on accurate facts and should not create a misleading impression of our company or our services. We are always open to constructive feedback and continuously work to improve our tours. However, we cannot accept accusations such as “scammed” when no such situation occurred. Karim was a very friendly and gracious tour guide. It was so nice to be picked up and returned to our hotel. We traveled from Enge along the lake to the Chinese Gardens. We visited the Fraumunster church and got to view the Chagall windows, as well as, traveled to Lindenhof. Karim was willing to take pictures of us and even went above and beyond by helping my husband attach his video camera to the E-bike. The only reason for 4 stars is the city's E-bikes. While easy enough to use, my husband was not a fan of their type.

Because the tourist section of Zurich is packed with pedestrians, the city seems better suited to a walking tour than a bike tour. At over $600 for our family of 4 this tour was not worth the price. We rented public bikes ourselves and had a great time exploring the city ourselves. Based on other reviews & our experience, be cautious when the guide tries to change the time of the tour. They offer the tour at 10am so we booked 10am. But our guide was 15 minutes late, and once he started the tour 2 of the spots he took us to were closed: Chinese Garden & the Fraumünster. If you’re looking for a tour from an expert on Zurich culture, history, stories & fun facts, we do not recommend this tour.

We would also like to correct one statement in your review. The guide was not late. He arrived at the scheduled meeting time and was preparing and delivering the bicycles directly in front of your hotel so that everything would be ready for your family before the tour began. This preparation is part of the service we provide and should not be confused with a delayed arrival. We also respectfully disagree with the suggestion that the tour lacked cultural or historical information. Our guides are experienced local professionals who are passionate about sharing Zurich’s history, culture, architecture, and hidden gems. The many positive reviews we have received over the years reflect the quality of our guided experiences. Finally, comparing a private guided bike tour with renting public bicycles independently is not a like-for-like comparison. This company-that Viator linked us up with-Emo Tours Swiss was terrible. We had a tour scheduled for Tuesday in Switzerland at 11 AM-for a private tour we paid over US$600. And at 10 AM on Tuesday morning they canceled the tour as their tour guide became ill. Then promised that they would be able to accommodate us on Wednesday at 11 AM so we had to change all of our plans with only five days in Switzerland. And then on Tuesday night at midnight they canceled the tour altogether. I have yet to receive our refund terrible company completely unreliable would not recommend.

Our bike tour was canceled by the operator on the day of and in the message they said we would receive a full refund. It’s been almost one month since and we have yet to receive a refund. Also, the communication with them is lacking. They take long to respond, or don’t respond at all…

My husband and I were picked up from our hotel and brought to our bikes. Alle gave us a great tour around parts of Lake Zurich and up into the Old Town area pointing out many sites and customs. It gave us a great feel for the city and the whereabouts of where we might want to return on our own. He was very friendly and informative. Afterwards he returned us to our hotel.
That sounds like an amazing experience! It's always nice to have a knowledgeable guide who can show you around and share interesting facts about the city. I'm glad you had a great time exploring Lake Zurich and the Old Town area. Having a feel for the city and knowing where to revisit on your own is definitely helpful.
