Itinerary

30 min

Get picked up by your guide at your accommodation in Barcelona. Once the pick-up is completed, the guide will take you to the first stop of your tour. You will start the day at the Montjuïc Mountain, from where you will enjoy the superb panoramic views of the city. Montjuïc, originally used as a strategic place to protect the city against attacks, is now home to the famous Miró foundation and the Caixa Forúm. These and other buildings on the hill, perfectly illustrate examples of modern art and contemporary architecture. The Montjuïc also includes examples of town planning and architecture especially drawn for the 1929 International Exhibition.

Pass by

Further on, you will head to the coastline of Barcelona, you will pass by the Columbus Monument and the Gothic Drassanes. The beach is surrounded by the most modern architecture, best represented by the World Trade Centre and the transformed Old Port. Maintaining its authentic charm, Port Vell is now full of restaurants, nightclubs and fantastic shops.

30 min

Enjoy a stroll in the Gothic Quarter, known as one of the districts that are part of Ciutat Vella, the old town of the city. In Ciutat Vella, where the history of Barcelona first started, you will experience a harmonious mix of modernity with Roman and medieval imprints. You will learn about the Catalan traditions and Barcelona’s origins, while exploring the enchanting corners, picturesque squares and the narrow alleys of the Gothic quarter.

Pass by

Admire the façade of the gothic cathedral of Barcelona, seat of the archbishopric of Barcelona, while walking around the Gothic Quarter.

Pass by

We will pass by the Columbus Monument, a tall memorial to the famous Christopher Columbus, at the lower end of Las Ramblas.

While walking through the Gothic Quarter, Plaça Sant Jaume, one of the main, oldest and most representative squares of Ciutat Vella, is definitely worth a visit.

Pass by

We will drive through the Eixample district, realised by Ildefons Cerdà after 1895 , to expand the city. (The word “Eixample” actually means “expansion” in Catalan). Passing by the streets of this elegant neighborhood, you will note that Cerdà’s philosophy of urban planning was revolutionary and utopian.

Pass by

You will have the chance to admire the breathtaking Gaudi's Sagrada Familia. This divine piece of art is considered as the most emblematic landmark of Barcelona. We will pass in front of this monument, and of course take a break to be able to look at the various details of its façades.

To end our tour in beauty, we will pass through the fancy Passeig de Gràcia, with its typical Catalan architecture. The avenue is home to the most impressive façades of modernist buildings, counting Gaudi’s La Pedrera, Casa Batlló and Domènech's Casa Lleó - Morera or Casa Ametller.

Fantastic Private Barcelona Tour with an Outstanding Guide

We had a wonderful experience on our private Barcelona tour with Toni. One of the best parts of the tour was the flexibility—we were able to customize the itinerary to match our interests, which made the day feel very personal and relaxed. Toni was incredibly knowledgeable about Barcelona’s history, architecture, and culture. He shared fascinating insights throughout the day and was happy to answer all of our questions. His passion for the city really enhanced the experience. A highlight of the tour was the amazing beachside restaurant Toni recommended and arranged for us. The food, atmosphere, and views were fantastic, and it ended up being one of our favorite meals during our trip. If you’re looking for a personalized way to explore Barcelona with a knowledgeable and friendly guide, we highly recommend Toni and this tour. It was a memorable experience for our family and a great way to see the city. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Barcelona Highlights with Joris

Joris was an excellent guide. Many roads were closed because of the pope visit but he was able to easily work his way through. He was extremely knowledgeable about the sights and eager to share that knowledge. I especially appreciated his vast knowledge of the Sagrada Familia, all of the symbolism, what all of the scenes on all four sides represent, the words, the different towers, evil leaving, the fruit, the architecture, timing, stained glass, the physics of it and so much more. Also, I had a question about a window in St. Agatha's that he wasn't sure of and he sent me a picture and explanation later in the day. We greatly enjoyed this tour and having Joris as our guide!

Great tour to see the main highlights of Barcelona

Our tour guide Joris was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. He had a lot of interesting historical and factual information, and also was very personable, with some humorous facts he added that really helped us learn and remember so much about this beautiful city. It does not include admission inside certain sights like the Gaudi houses and the Basilica del la Sagrada Familia. With a 5-hour timeframe you want to be able to see as much of Barcelona as you can - a great overview.
