A fantastic experience, highly recommended. Especially our guide Harry made us feel welcome and we leave as friends. It has overwhelming expertise and has been able to convey this very well. Great sightseeing stops paired with inside knowledge, a great combination. One of the best tours we have ever experienced.

We did the Auckland Highlights Luxury Tour and it was absolutely fantastic and worth every penny! We were greeted by our friendly and super cool host Donna who was everything you’d want in a host and more. We thoroughly enjoyed her driving, knowledge, company, and just all round vibe! Manaakitanga lives strongly with people like Donna! The ride was very comfortable, not over booked at all, 3 couples in a 9 seater van is just perfect, so everyone was happy! Not to mention the amazing snack basket that’s there for you as well. Savory, sweet, plain, simple options that would make most people happy. As I constant water sipper, it was such a comfort having access to water whenever necessary. The choice of places we stopped at were really cool! A nice mixture of urban culture and traditional culture, of which we ended up learning so much from. For me personally it allowed me to bridge a few gaps regarding the amazing Māori culture with the rest of Aotearoa! You wouldn’t believe the views you’ll get on this tour. If you want to be humbled at the marvel of Aotearoa’s beauty, this is an excellent tour choice for the TIME crunched traveler (pun intended 😂) We even stopped at a lovely little chocolate shop that is totally worth it! Also the lovely Donna gave us the absolute best recommendation for food where we finished the tour. We ended up at DEPOT at SkyCity Tower and have hands down the best meal through our whole trip. Bone marrow,Snapper sliders,Fresh oysters, Cucumber salad amazing. Desert sugar pie and skillet cookie,amazing. The staff were so cute and helpful , really added to the amazing food. Also if you’re a fan of the daily show, I think Grace Kuhlenschmidt’s kiwi twin works there! 😂 Thank you Donna!! ❤️ If you made it this far, I’ve convinced you that this is the tour you want. Julia, our guide, a 5th-generation Kiwi, gave us a 4-hr windshield tour of various Auckland highlights with running commentary that not only showed us and told us about a few sites and views, but more importantly for us, set us up to appreciate various aspects of culture unique to NZ. Tiaki! We had flown into Auckland early a.m. on an overnight from Houston. We took a nap, but wanted an afternoon Auckland experience that wouldn't require much energy on our part. This was perfect! Knowledgeable, personable and interesting guide, comfy van, water/snacks (plus a demo of NZ tasty delights) and a subtle introduction to "the feel" of NZ. Do it!
It was such a pleasure to read your lovely review, noting we read this during New Zealand's complete lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic that has the world firmly in its grip at the moment. Hosting appreciative manuhiri (guests) such as yourselves makes it all worthwhile as we go through dark times in the hope that we, like many of our tourism colleagues, come out again at the other side. We have loved every minute of hosting our guests from around the world for the past 15 years and are fully planning to be there for the next 15 years and beyond since what we do is not a job but a calling, a passion that we live for. We started our business 15 years ago and have made so many friends in that time, have had so many laughs and met so many genuine and great people. On this tour, you’ll be amazed by spectacular views of ancient volcanoes, the beautiful Waitemata Harbour and Hauraki Gulf, Tamaki Drive with famous Mission Bay Beach, as well as a drive across the Auckland Harbour Bridge, all in half a day. We feel it’s a great way to learn lots about our gorgeous city Tamaki Makarau (Auckland) in a short time. Having said that, we also feel that it's even more worthwhile to upgrade to a full day Auckland Tour, where we can also incorporate what we consider the brightest jewel in Auckland's crown: the Waitakere Ranges subtropical rainforest on Auckland's West Coast. We were taken in a comfortable mini-bus to a few specific historic and vista locations. Our guide, Sofire, gave us a good feel for the history of Auckland, including the Maori views. Her presentations were wonderful and she was very clear in her descriptions of locations and historical events.
What we are most proud of is our team of wonderful guides that we have built up and nurtured over the years. These are kaiarahi (host-guides) that don't just show our manuhiri (guests) our beautiful city Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) and country Aotearoa (New Zealand) but open up their hearts and minds in a two-way communication so that our guests can learn as much as possibly about us and our country during each tour.
